There really is a feeling that can’t be replicated by any genre of music except Gospel Music. You can feel the presence the almost hug of the lord around your arms and shoulders… haven’t heard this song in years and her I am fighting tears rocking back in forth. Yes God. Welcome Brother, Been Living off this song since I was a teenager. I'm 37 today, I can tell you that even after Donnie had throat cancer & an operation, he still hits pretty much the same notes has he did when I was younger. The words of this song are oxygen, I breathe them💯

First memory I have of this song is from when I was probably about 4 years old. While we got ready for church on sundays we would listen to the music choice gospel channel at my grandma's house and this is one of the songs that just made me smile and it still does the same thing for me.

You are not wrong, brother, and it’s not just the church you grew up in. Matthew 7:21-23 speaks of this very thing. I thoroughly enjoy your Gospel Sunday reactions as well as the others but these Gospel ones hit different!

Great Reaction for the song. Marvin Winans is also a prolific and anointed preacher. They all preach as well as they can sing. Check him in "It’s all good, it's all God" Also check him in the movie "I can do bad all by myself "

The gospel music that you're celebrating is directly related to the historical experience that was passed down through generations. We, who have been around for 6 decades pluse, are seeing a mild lull that inspired this strong gospel expression. Unfortunately, we may soon see a resurgence of oppressive behavior that will breathe new life into how we must express and vocalize our trauma.

The Black American Church has been THE preeminent music conservatory imo of the last 400 years. ALL American music genres were created from this singuar institution. Listen to gospel vocalists and musicians and it becomes apparent why. Marvin, Bebe and CeCe Winans are my favorite gospel vocalists. Their voices are like butter.

Yeah they've got similar vibratos. If you go and watch the live recording of 'the lifter' where he's leading the choir into the part where Tamela sings you can really hear it

I know you meant no disrespect, but Ricky Dillard…although a great song writer and producer…is considered to be an awful singer in most of the gospel world, so the comparison just was ‘unexpected’.
