André Louzeiro Ned was a middle child like Jon

I think Ned and Jon both learned their valor and honor from being humble and having strength in their convictions. Neither of them ever expected to have the positions of power they ended up with. Brandon Stark was always destined to be Warden of the North and Lord of Winterfell. Ned was always the one who was "expendable" to the family and seemed fine with that. He was not important enough to be watched and thrust into positions of responsibility as often as his brother but not so unimportant that they ignored him and was given training and education that served him later. I can't remember if it was when Brandon died that Ned was spirited away to the Vale of Arryn with Robert Baratheon or if it was before that, when he was given to Jon Arryn as a ward. Either way, Jon Arryn left a lasting impression on him. Stood with the North and Stormlands when they rebelled against the Mad King. Ned named his sister's son after Jon Arryn. A child I'm sure he loved very much and even broke his honor to protect, by lying about his parentage and making it look like he had broken his vowels to Catelyn, and he valued his honor above all other traits he possessed. The same way Jon does. It's amazing how much like Ned Jon is. Nothing Jon has done reminded me more of Ned than when Jon told Cersei he had already sworn fealty to Dany. It was like Ned was standing in the middle of that dragon pit. It's amazing how similar they are. Especially considering their biological relationship.

I don't know I think Rob was also very close to Ned in terms of character and morals

I think people overlook what Ned did, though. Maester Aemon asked if Ned Stark would choose family/love or honor to which Jon Snow replied that Ned would do what was right, no matter what. Such was Ned's reputation. But we now know that Ned Stark would, in fact, choose family/love over honor,.This is self-evident with the entire Jon Snow situation. Robb is very much like his father... except maybe he was a little too loose with the "rules". He chose love over honor but was too hasty about it.

Pretty much anyone else who was sitting in that circle had a better story than Bran. He basically did nothing to earn it besides falling out of a tower, having other people drag him across the frozen north, two dying in the process (lets not even go into the whole Hodor thing), screwing up in the whole training to be the 3 eyed raven due to once again not listening and then playing bait during a battle. Oh and I guess he was there in time to drive that oh so convenient wedge between Dany and Jon, you know to subvert our expectations. You know what makes it worse, is that by the end I simply could could not stand the surviving members of the family I was originally cheering for (The Starks).

After fighting the White Walkers and the dead and killing Daenerys in the last episode, his purpose was served. A solution that ended the problem in a way that people no longer needed to be saved. The only natural thing was for him to go beyond the Wall, and Bran knew that so he sent him there.

Him going to the wall was stupid!!! For one technically he's still king of the north. N the unsullied left for narth so really he could do what ever he wanted. N what happened to all the scrolls vary's sent telling everyone who Jon really is? N was never brought up! D&D did a shit job absolutely ruined what was the greatest show on tv.

Moreover, it was always obvious that Bran is schemeing against Jon and Daenerys. He didn't care about anyone, yet he was eager to explore Jon's past and tell him the truth, that helped to antagonize Daenerys and resulted Bran's reign. The same apply to Azor Ahai's legend. Many characters believed in it, the audience believed in it, also the Night King believed in the legend. He didn't risk the fight with Jon Snow face to face, and the NK believed he dealt with the champion of the Lord of Light and let his guard down in the final moment. Not the writers' fault if the audience not capable to see behind the curtains and realise Brandon Stark was the puppet master all along.

@ you read an awful lot between the lines. N thats excatly my point. In previous seasons what happened in S10 would have taken place over 3 different seasons not rushed n cramed into one season. Thats why everyone loved GOT. We fell in love with the characters n there dialogue. Everything was done with such detail n no matter what happened weather we loved it or hated it we weren't left guessing saying wtf! We didnt have to read between the lines or fill in the blanks. Maybe if the story ended after they told the story we might not have all been happy, because we didnt like what might of happened to one or two of our fav characters but we still would have been satisfied. N it still was GOT

He didn't avenge the red wedding at all.. The Freys, Roose Bolton and Tywin Lannister are guilty of that. In fact, I think Ramsay was at Winterfell at the time of the Red Wedding wasn't he? Let's see.. who else did Jon kill to avenge the Red Wedding, maybe Roose? Nope, killed by Ramsay. Tywin? Nope, killed by Tyrion. Walder Frey (& co)? Nope killed by Arya. I think the part where they claim Jon "avenged the red wedding" was just lazy writing in an otherwise nice episode. For some reason they forgot the entire "North Remembers" storyline and figured they'd get off easy.

Don't dwell too hard on it. The Red Wedding was the definitive fall of the Starks and Winterfell, the Battle of the Bastards put the Starks back at their rightful place. That's what they meant by "Jon Snow avenged the Red Wedding".

Calvionne County yes, but even with Ygritte he always put his duty before her. He went back to the Nights Watch as soon as he was able and if it were a true parallel with Dany, then would never have let her do the things she did.

Agreed, they just used his heritage as a way to drive a wedge between him and Dany, which makes no sense because she has always felt like she was all alone, the last Targaryen. They also have Jon conveniently forget the line he gave to Theon, that he didn't have to choose. He could be a Greyjoy and a Stark. Well Jon turn that around for yourself bud. You don't have to choose either. You can be a Stark and a Targaryen and guess what you have a Targaryen relative who could teach you how to be a Targaryen. Marry, consolidate your claims and be done with it. They hyped up the Night King as this huge bad guy and then the whole battle just falls flat. Jon doesn't even get a decent fight with and ends up spending the ending of the battle just screaming at a dragon all while Arya (who has never even see this thing before) gets the moment. They used a throw away Mel line to say they foreshadowed that one. All of this was to "subvert our expectations". Well I guess mission accomplished, you certainly did that. We were expecting an ending that made a lick of sense.
