There is nothing like new equipment .yeah, buddy, that was definitely a long dead head bob tailing .my longest bob tail was 640 miles, or so thanks for the ride, my friend .safe travels driver 🙏 🇺🇸✌️
Awesome Video! I'm 21 and finishing up some online college classes, then I plan on attending Prime Orientation & Training for my CDL beginning of 2025. Looks like an amazing opportunity!
Hey brother that’s amazing good news to hear. Hope to see you joining the Prime family soon. It’s definitely an amazing opportunity that’s for sure 💯 take care!
I just put in for a new truck order yesterday. I can’t do the Frieghtliner anymore lol. Hopefully I’ll get the confirmed email that it got approved and sent to manufacturer for build.
Next time you go to Walmart, go to the baby section and look for the child safety latch, very simple to latch and unlatch, much more easier than the strap around your refrigerator… wow that’s a long deadhead/bobtail. Good fuel mileage is the only positive thing lol.
On the bright side ur making 1.02 and not .58 and can fuel where you want. And with a brand new trailer ur next load will be a drop and hook at the 01. So enjoy it for a few hrs.
That was a lot of miles to dead head. What kind of mileage do you get without a trailer? Looks like Prime is updating their trailers, which is cool for the drivers. It will be interesting to see where your next load is going. Nice video (as always). Take care and safe travels.
Hello Ms Cindy yes it sure was a far deadhead I wasn’t happy about it. I was getting 13.4 mpg without a trailer. Yes prime has been buying a lot of brand new 2025 trailers all over the states. From the same utility manufacturing plants all around the county and then we put them in service. I appreciate it. Unfortunately I didn’t record the next pickup after because it was night time and I ended up dropping my brand new trailer for a old preloaded one 😢
Not really pretty much the same unless you get extra add ons you have to pay for it like digital dash extra storage door table on bottom of sleeper etc
Bro sounds to me they did not have a load for you so they just made you get that trailer it’s slow everywhere my brother keep your head up because to me you got what it takes to make the money at the end of the day be safe my brother
Yes sir I agree with you they really didn’t have anything it was dry so I had no choice but to take whatever you get moving and earn a few dimes. You do the same always safety first 🙏
I wouldnt be thrilled about bt that far for an mty trailer either. I went to lineup in Springfield for a load out a couple years ago and they offered to bt me over 1000 miles to Utah for a new trailer. Said there were no loads on the yard. So i figured bt would get me excellent fuel mlg which it did at 13mpg. And being in utah i would get a good load from there. So i bt 1030 miles at 1.02. the only bad thing about dh to denver for the meat patch would be a 395 mile dh to dodge city from there. Or a cheap sams club load from loveland to idaho or utah. Yep its not fun waiting on a load from springfield. If you refuse a load hoping for something better it may just blow up in ur face and you get a worse one in return. So how did you end up picking up in Grand Island when ur getting a new trailer in VA?
Yeah I agree with you I hate going to Springfield and getting stuck there at times. Usually not a lot of loads available especially on a weekend or Monday. So I went to Virginia got a brand new 2025 then heading up somewhere in VA grabbed a Hershey load and took it to Illinois then after that got a chocolate load to Ohio and reloaded there after I dropped off chocolate and went to Aurora Colorado to deliver after that I DH to grand island NE
sorry you had to dead head that far i know it sucks but congrats on getting your student passed question how for do your loads go for prime 800 miles over 1000 mile loads or does it depend on what you are hauling?
Hey brother yeah unfortunately the DH was long but it’s fine to get me moving out of the terminal 🤷♂️ thank you 🙏 student worked hard and successfully passed the cdl test 😃 just really depends what your hauling as far as miles we have short runs like 200-400 miles and the last 2 I did one was 1465 miles and this one I’m on now was 1127 miles so just depends honestly
@@thetexastrucker7934 I'd imagine being an OO contractor would be a different case? As long as they own the truck they have a say, even if its a lease, correct?
@@bagofstufff I'm not sure. From what the people who work inside prime tell me is that if you pull any freight for prime you follow their rules as well. Maybe O/O have access to the load board. Idk. But I've seen some trucks that have nothing to do with prime with their own dot number easily pass me on the hwy with a prime trailer while I'm governed at governed at 65. And same scenario parked at the terminal. So idk what the truth is.
Hey brother know unfortunately not you can’t select the loads but as a lease driver you can deny loads and they will offer you other options that about it.
Hey Cali 👋 what’s going on brother you can choose what truck you want if you choose to lease but if you go company they will give you whatever is available.
Nice...just finishing watching your latest video of you picking up the new trailer.........end up watching your yogurt delivery out her to turlock ca. Then the strawberry delivery to the Walmart DC....that sounds like a crazy long ass trip.....
@RunningOTR yea I was on your live feed yesterday, probably don't remember me. Those views and scenery going up hwy 80 out of California, and out the in the mountains and flatlands are amazing..maybe in a couple of years me and the wifey will do our. Once the kiddos are old enough for are older kids to watch the younger kids.. maybe we will start like regional here in Cali. Or maybe start of with like the west coast, or the western 11.....before we go full otr like you..ok well it's probably getting later where ever your hanging up for the night... have a good night and from one trucker to another, drive safe out there bro 🙏
🤦🏼♂️ good eye 👁️ pretty dumb idea though but you need to keep it within reach so you don’t have to keep stopping a lot especially me I drink a lot of water
I agree but it’s better than sitting in the yard for the next day or so 🤷♂️ so it would of been a loss in both situations I wanted to get moving and that the best options they had either to Colorado or Virginia
Yeah I heard the news as well and seen a lot of updates from drivers and other sites. I’m not sure why he chooses the route he does. Maybe financial it’s better
Good question I’m not sure if it’s because it’s been sitting in the dirty for a while and when it rains it splashes the sand on it or they buy used rims with recapped tires because prime uses super singles rather than most trailers come with the duly tires 🤷♂️
