For the one or maybe two that doesn't already know, sanding blocks are so easy to make. Just wrap a sheet of sandpaper on a block of wood and there you have it. So much less expensive. Love you Pam, and especially Holly! I have 5 Birds of my own. 🐦🐦🐦🐦🐦
I make a “giant” nail file with a paint stick and sand paper for my dog. She hates the electric one and the clippers make them too sharp, so we do “doggy spa” with the nail file after clipping, 😂.
Went to Thrift store yesterday and bought some old dictionaries. I am going to try to cut into a book. Fingers crossed... lol... seems so wrong... also found some old music books. I'm excited.
just starting my junk journaling journey watching lots of your videos and listening to your podcasts and i’m loving them ❤❤ every time sunshine does a pupdate or puplick service announcement my 2 pugs Tara and Minnie go crazy 🐶🐶🐾🐾
I have some vintage pattern pcs, will definitely give this a go. Love your ideas, you are very inspirational. Love to hear from Pup Reporter he is great.
Hi Pam love your videos! You’re always so entertaining you crack me up girl! 😂. Love the purple inked index card that’s a great tip! Thanks for all you do and sharing!👍🏼❤
Ooh, I like that purple leather-look surface! So simple and yet so rich looking. How fun that Sunshine has a play date. Poor boy, "Everyone thinks he's a girl." It's the same with our bichon. People always say "Oh, she's beautiful!" when I have him in the pet store or even just out walking. We always reply "He prefers 'handsome.' But it's hard to look masculine when you're small, white, fluffy, and have pink skin. He understands your confusion."
Mornin' Pam. Love hearing from the feathered members of the menagerie! It's been a long time since they've been part of the show. 😁 Love sewing patterns. So easy to play with. Crinkly is always good. 👍 TFS Regards etc. Hope you all have a great day. 🌞
Good morning beautiful. Another awesome crafting session with you. Your creativity is amazing as always. I love your pizzazz and wordage. You have a way to make me feel blessed and smile. Blessings always thanks for sharing your time with us. 💛🤗🌻🧡💛
For anyone on a budget, in the US, Joann's has patterns on sale periodically $10 for 10. Sanding blocks are available at the dollar store or harbor freight if you want bulk cheap options. You can make your own ink if you look it up on RU-vid. Thanks for all the fun ideas.
@@daniellehaggard7401 haha, you must be up in my neck of the woods-ish… we’ve had more snow in the last week than we’ve gotten all the previous months of winter!
I really like the 'scrunched' one, the second one you did! I think it looks like tree branches. Cool video, thanks! I also buy sewing patterns at my local thrift store. They seem to have tons, and doesn't seem like anyone else wants them, they always have so many! Good for me though, I won't complain! :)
Love your Channel and you have actually got me into making journals! Love Sunshine! I have to say you are by far the most interesting, captivating and most informative Junk Journaling person on RU-vid. Your have the coolest sense of humor! Enjoy you big time!!!! Pam, I have a couple of questions? I seen you spritz a ink Distress ink pad? Was that with water and will this help before I indulge in buying refill ink? Loved this video! You go girl! Love that puppy!
It's just water. It'll rehydrate a dry pad. Usually, a pad will be dry and not necessarily need to be reinked, so, yeah... it could save you from purchasing that refill ink right now. =D
Good morning Pam! 💕 Timely video my dear! It has been warm (yay!) but rainy (boo!) here for days and days, so my weekend (between projects) is all about using scraps and leftovers on my desk. Entirely too much fun once I get rolling. 😂 Hugs to the menagerie! Delightful to hear the feathered babies. 🤗 Have a wonderful weekend gang! 💕
I bought my Stabilo after watching LorriMarie Jenkins, too. Watching her channel about mixed media art is what started me down the junk journaling road. Now you are my best inspiration, Love your ideas and that you stay with the spirit of designing with mostly ‘junk.’ (^_^)
Like these a lot. I’m going to make some. How about pinking sheer the sides? Also I’m going to make a paper doll from one of the models on pattern front and sew her on.
Pam when you make your paper does coated cardboard work. Punched a bunch of circles out of pkg butter comes in but didnt know whether to add it to my paper scraps for making paper Thank you.. todays video was FUN!!!
Hi Pam, why yes I do have index cards and sewing patterns! So I stopped what I was doing and grabbed what I needed and set to work making five index cards. One for each of my 4x6 Christmas journals that I started last fall. I like to pull them out when I inspiration hits. Like today.😉 I think I'm getting close to being done with them. I need to make things to fill the pockets and add ribbon or baker's twine to the tags I already have. Also I want to stencil the bare pages before calling them done. These are my first journals and it has been fun learning as I go. You and so many others have taught me so much by sharing your ideas through these videos.❤️ By the way I love hearing about Sunny's adventures. He's so adorable. Have a lovely day!
Good morning Pam💕 There is just something about sewing pattern paper that is magical. Thanks for the project sharing and I hear your birds are happy. 😊 Awesome Sunny has play date and lmao at the end he was like Mom I'm out of here. 😂 Have a fabulous day, hugs! 🤗
When I tried to listen to your Podcast on Saturday it was a rerun of the last one I'd heard (39) and the numbering seemed to skip episode 40. I'm using the "Podcast" app on my Apple iPhone 7. Is there a better way I should be listening? I like that app because I can get map directions from my iphone and instead of talking over you it pauses you. I'd used another app in the past that for some reason kept starting the podcasts in the middle and after it ended it would play the beginning. Very odd but I'm not very tech savvy so it could be me. Thank you for your hard work and being so prolific on RU-vid and with your podcasts. I live vicariously through you when I don't have time to craft. Blessings to you!
Sometimes, Hobby Lobby will have sales on their pattern where they cost only $1.99 per pattern, limit ten patterns. Frankly, as a sewist, when I think about tearing up a pattern , I do the Freak-Out Dance 😄😄😄 but I can see it how this technique can put to use SO many unused patterns! I love the whole recycling ideas behind Pam's channel!! 🌹🌹🌹🌹
Hey hun and spring greetings from Finland. Was thinking, have you ever tried using any watersoluble pencils, like watercolor pencils instead of the Stabilo All? Could be interesting to make your focal point pop-up in color.. any color or with multiple colors. Pls let me know if you have and did you enjoy the results. Oc it would not be waterproof after activating like Stabilo All is after it's dried and you'd need to keep that in mind when adding more layers.
I just loved the purple leather look you made! It’s absolutely gorgeous! You have such a creative mind and make great ideas come alive. Have a great weekend! I have index cards and sewing patterns I picked up from Goodwill so I want to definitely try this idea out! 🤗❤️
Hello Pam! Thank you for sharing this idea! I'm excited sunny has a new friend but.... I don't think he trying to share any treats lol!! I hope he does can't wait to see what happens!! Hugs to you and sunny 🥰💐❤️🤗 have a wonderful day!! Loving the birds in the background!!❤️
I have watercolor pencils that basically work like your Stebello pencil. You can use them wet or dry, if used dry, then add water with a brush or Q-tip as you do. I'm on vacation so I am not quite sure of the brand name. But I'll find out. I know they weren't expensive at all.
I, too, have a variety of watercolor pencils. I also have “inktense” blocks (I think by derwent) that I bought years ago, which look like square artist charcoal blocks, but they are a very intense water soluble dried compressed ink pigment. Awesome when you want a pop of color wash.
How the balloon ropes go with and against the pattern lines is cool. Then the “polishing” of ink the creases of the second one really snaps. I did not expect the last one to turn out so well. They’re all great. My dogs go cujo around other dogs. One sounds like he’s being murdered and freaks people out. Vet trips are a trip. Ha ha. Sunny makes a cute rabbit.
