As long as we have got all the classic 80's gothic music, that's all that matters to me. The sub-culture maybe dying but just look at metal. There's only a few of those classic bands still knocking around making music but when they stop, metal will still be a thing because of all the music that was made. Same with goth. That music will exist forever so it doesn't really matter in my opinion. When maiden and metallica stop making metal music, it doesn't matter because metal heads will still have something to listen to. Nothing ever truly dies. People still listen to classical music. It's not as popular anymore but people still listen to it... As long as we still have our playlists with siouxsie and the banshees, Bauhaus, sisters of mercy ect it doesn't matter.
The subculture is NOT dying. I am very active in the local Goth scene in Dallas, and we have TWO PACKED clubs, plus other events weekly. Try again.....
Great!i was searching for new bands to hear but didnt find anything special till this playlist. i liked Under the Skin,Geometric Vision,The Hearse...The Flatfield was my fav i was in she past away concert not too long ago.they are really good live !
Great list! Even though I actually already listen to quite a bit of modern Goth bands, I was unaware of some of the ones in this list. I admit also, that I'm still mostly partial to 80's-90's Goth Rock, Post Punk, Darkwave etc., but alot of new bands are putting out awesome stuff. Miazma, Godless Procession, Silent Scream, and Golden Apes are definitely among my top favorite in modern groups.
Same. I love gothic rock. SoM, The Wake, The Awakening, Nosferatu, Angels of Liberty. If u look at me I look like a gangbanger (was 1 and realized I was a stupid fuckin kid) and would never guess it.
@@boperez2841 Not necessary dressing as one or doing makeup but def listening to goth music and considering yourself as goth, if he doesn't consider himself as one then he chooses, the fact is if he listens to he can be part of it if he wants to
IMHO we just listening rather very, very good mix of dark wave, than a todays goth music. If you like really enjoy thats mix, you MUST use good earphones instead computers speakers. Great, great, great!!!
I've been listening to a lot of classic/80's goth, but I'm intrigued to hear that there's newer music, too! I really like She Past Away. The picks on this are very good :)
Nice list! I love She Past Away. Bought their albums a while back. Soluk has that driving along a long dark road at night feel to it 👻 quick edit - have you heard Traitrs? They've done a few good tracks, definitely worth checking out 💀
After the bad taste most of the so-called deathrock bands of the late 2000's left in my mouth this Playlist is making me think I passed judgement too soon.
I hadn't heard of them before. I just went to listen to them and heard about half the Climax album. It sounds like some of the post-punk revival bands from the early 2000s but with a much harsher, almost deathrock-ish vibe to it. Pretty good.
