Gotham Knights Season 1 Episode 4 Review. CW have outclassed themselves for the weird, funny comments on this one. Not only do we recap the story AGAIN like every episode, but someone will ask an obvious question, and the other character has no idea what it means. We take explaining basic stuff to the audience to the next level while wandering around talking to the Jokers daughter's future self. This is a weird one, although it does introduce a quality actress that I want to get a spin off series. Unfortunately I get the feeling she wont be sticking around. But what are your thoughts? Let me know down below and as always, thanks for watching :)

Ngl you should finish the milf manor series. A lot of entertaining things happen, Just to name 1, there was a love triangle and then a love rectangle. but one thing you know by the 3rd to 4th episode is Everyone wants Jose, I wouldn’t be surprised if even the guys want em at this point considered how delusional everyone on the show is but if it helps, I’ll say at the very least one person came to their senses and went home

I think the reason for the constant recap is quite simple: they want to pad out the runtime cause they know the plot itself wouldn't last them the entire episode, even with the pointless scenes included

The Lovecraft story Herbert West-Reanimator (significant for being a shameless Frankenstein ripoff, creating the idea of zombies a good 20 years before Romero was born and 30 before I Am Legend was written so he could rip it off, and also being the basis for the famous film of the same name) does something similar: every chapter begins with a lengthy recap of the previous one, which made a bit of sense when it was serialized but is a bit insufferable in a combined work.

I think they recap because it’s cheaper and they’re trying to do the series sheet. Like in Baywatch, the reason they came up with the slow run was to save money.

You know, I kinda get making the coin and the dagger marks a calling card. It's a classic move. A serial criminal leaving behind something to mark his work? It really is a classic fictional, and sadly sometimes even real life, move. The issue is, and also the reason why it is called a calling card, that the criminal does that on purpose so his victims and crimes could be identified as being done by one and the same person. So it really doesn't work with the whole *COURT OF OWLS BEING A SECRET SOCIETY*
@haku8135
@haku8135 Год назад
It CAN work even with a secret society if done correctly. Such as to divert attention. For example, if you murdered someone and left a Joker card, they'd assume the Joker did it and they'd focus their attention on the Joker. You can also do it if nobody knows what the symbol means. "An Owl" doesn't mean anything on its own. It only matters if you're already aware of the Court of Owls. HOWEVER they fuck this up as well because they have a COMMONLY KNOWN FUCKING RHYME ALL ABOUT THEIR SECRET ORGANIZATION! The fact their fucking assassin isn't even capable of breaking a car window, SOMETHING MOST PEOPLE COULD DO, ESPECIALLY WITH A SWORD, just really stacks the deck against them.

@@haku8135 I get what you're saying BUT you also have to look at it from the in-universe perspective And here we have a city where a guy dresses up as an oversized bat, calls himself Batman and throws around stuff designed to look like bats So if a coin with a symbol of owl was appearing at the sites of weird accidents, possible murders, it would be really safe to assume, at the very least, that there is some nutcase who got inspired by Batman and uses owl as his trademark symbol

Dalinar grabs the dude, lays him out, steals his knife, and stabs him in the chest. Because Dalinar was looking for a knife to cut his meat, he takes the knife out of this dead guy's chest, washes it off in his cup of wine, and then proceeds to use it for his dinner. Naturally the people at this party are horrified, including his prospective WIFE and her brother, and he's like "Come on, I'm not gonna DRINK the wine, what's the problem?" It's a fucking badass scene. Ahhhhh. Good writing.

22:25 It's becoming a real annoying thing for me how they keep using the daddy problems as an escape to avoid any wrong doings that their characters are doing but at the same time laugh about it. Their characters are constantly creating issues, that shouldn't be issues to begin with (because CW) and the moment these characters get confronted in these shows, it's always that annoying ''My dad left me as a child'' excuse or the classic ''I need 5 peptalks and 10 conversation scenes'' to continue their bullshit. I actually did have a crappy father myself, and I haven't seen the man for over 20+ years now for very good reasons. Now, let's imagine I am one of these people in the show, and I stub my toe against the table ''Oh that was my dad's fault!'' is what is being used here constantly, it's driving me crazy. I bet you that none of these actors in the show even had a similar and close experience like I had as a child. Usually I don't care about this type of stuff, I am now a grown man that doesn't live in the past, but I cannot deny the fact that it annoys the crap out of me how they use every excuse, with now being the daddy situation in this show, to write their characters in such a way that they can do everything wrong, for any reason, and always blame it on daddy (Batman) or any type of parent (usually males because females can't do no wrong) That's how you can see how utterly trash this show is and the people running it, they would throw their family in the fire for that extra little paycheck they can get playing a character that barely does anything and cries about every single situation, to then be constantly praised of how amazing people they are even if they did the most horrendous thing a person can do. Breaking into places? hurting or killing random white people? Well I did that because (put parent blame excuse here) Oh and cops. CW shows or anything linked to them loves to destroy or kill cops off in their shows, because ''police officer bad'' and if it's a male with a rank or high class stature like a mayor or some kind, you get bonus points.

In-universe, offering this boy a seat in the Court and asking for his loyalty is the stupidest thing, when he is the one with a gun who could kill any one or all of them. Yes, maybe it wouldn't kill ALL the Court, but it would slow them down a little while he runs for safety with the other Knights and builds up his forces and skills.

@@marhawkman303 Harvey Dent (comics) was a district attorney, aka prosecutor, aka lawyer. Castiel Dent is a cop isn't he? I haven't watched the show any more than what Disparu has shown of it so I assume. So either Two-Face was never Batman's enemy in CW or there are two characters with the name Dent and both become Two-Face. Since Joker existed in CW Batman it would maker sense that Two-Face also existed as a villain for Batman to battle meaning there are two characters with the name Dent and both are Two-Face. So when your answer to "true greatness requires a lawyer" was "we have Harvey Dent for that" and this Harvey Dent isn't a lawyer but a cop. True Harvey Dent was a lawyer (prosecutor) and then yes, true greatness requires a lawyer, because Gotham Knights isn't great since Harvey isn't a lawyer. PS. The whole gimmick feels like it's a cheeky steal from "Young Sherlock Holmes" - a secret society bumping people off by giving them an hallucinogen so they "self-terminate" so to speak. The scriptwriters probably think no-one in this wretched show's target demographic ever saw that film, so it'll pass as their own original idea. And the sad thing is they might even be right about that.

At the beginning they seemed to try and copy the scene from the original TMNT movie that had Casey Jones cut bread with Leonardo's sword. Defending the stupid... because I got time like that. The knife - I agree, but I do see what they were aiming for. It's justunfortunate they weren't smart enough to execute it well. Just sick enough to imagine what an assassins weapon may need to look like. They have a very warped mind, and I'll explain how. An assassin wants to kill their target, a suffering target is a target with a vendetta and a failed mission. During World War I, the use of "sawback" bayonets was banned under the Hague Convention of 1899. Everyone is more or less taught this in some way during history class in school. Some schools use flamethrowers as an example. Regardless, the point is, "it's inhumane so it's outlawed. It causes unnecessary suffering, when it should just cause death." Reason I bring that up, is because that's the thought process behind their writing... they think an assassin would want to cause max damage and suffering.... no, an assassin wants to make sure their target dies. Which is why the knife is... close, but no cigar. For those who don't get it. That blade has a rather nasty surprise. Plunge it, twist it, and the target will not be able to get that wound treated. Not easily anyways. You will be taking a piece of them out with the knife each time you do this theoretically. It also has crevaces that can be used to lace with poison I assume. The blade lacks a guard because it's meant to go as deep as you need it to and be concealed well. So, it has the elements required.... then there's that tip.... why? Is your plan to stab once and walk away? Is it an insurance policy because your assassins sometimes screw up and don't leave the target dead? I mentioned what it was for, but that's just not how assassins operate. Go look at every assassins weapon ever... they are designed souly for killing. Not injuring and maiming. For penetrating armor, getting in deep, applying very lethal poisons, and not getting caught. It makes no sense for any skilled assassin. You don't want your target to suffer, you want them dead, asap. Still, I would prefer a less "modern" design. A bichwa or a pesh-kabz.... isn't this order supposed to be very old?
