Gotharman zaTurn: Filter Pings, Pongs and Plongs (Modular Synth Jam)

A little stereo ambient synth jam with pinged filters on Gotharman's zaTurn modular synthesizer. No samples, apart from that one vocal numbers station one. I'm pinging two of the four analog VCFs with internal LFOs and modulate them with S&H random generators. Then I layer a drone and various synth voice melodies on top.

Sounds great. What kind of LFO are you pinging them with? Does it have to be square, or saw shaped, so you get a sharp attack on the ping?

Thanks! Yes, they‘re square-ish and saw-ish. I‘m also mixing two LFO signals together and both have their frequency modulated (love the Urano/zaTurn for this flexibility).

Hello. Im watching all of your videos because i purchased a ld3 mk2. On a forum u said u use “harley benton” powerbank.. its for sale on thomann. If i purchase it, is all necessary cable included? Or did u need to purchase something extra? Thanks !

Yes, all cables come with the powerbank. Careful: the powerbank has center negative 9V outputs and the LD3 needs center positive. There is a cable with a red plug that comes with the powerbank. This converts from c.neg to c.pos. Use that :)

That powerbank is really good. Had it for several years in frequent use and it’s still good. Also, it can be charged via USB, so you don’t need a special power adapter for it. Many other 9V powerbanks need to be charged with 9V or more.

Very good filter set! VCF1 has that special Gotharman grit and VCF5 is quite smooth (and discontinued and rare!!!). Enjoy and let me know how it goes! On ModWiggler there’s an LD3 thread where Gotharman is active too 👍
