the EX-N is by far the most fun ive had on a wheel, i have the newest version with the CST knobby tire and i love it, even on the street which is mostly where i ride, it has so much torque and the beeps start at 46mph, so you have the best of both worlds.
On EX.N when you push it max hard the battery sags, yes ofc, and then actually recovers as you see yours going back up to over 60%. the newer BMS on current EX.N helps even more. I get incredible range on mine!

As always, solid review! The EXN is a freaking beast. I wish that you had the new version so that you could have given us your thoughts on the knobby tire, and better weather sealing. They are also using Samsung 2170's exclusively, which I think has resulted in much less battery sag. New small bearing motor, and there are no open holes inside the shell, anymore. Lots of change, which I think would have given some of the other categories, a slightly better score. Thanks for sharing!
@@OWGAC man I totally get it! So many great offerings coming up, the EXN is Almost old news, now, I'm afraid. I waited 100 days to receive mine (latest gen), and I absolutely love it. Cruising 25-30 is almost effortless. Hopefully this next generation of wheels from Begode have some real emphaisis put towards build quality, reliability, and quality control. The perfect trifecta they should be focusing on at this time, to regain market trust, market share, and in order to bring their build quality and reputation up to par with their power and performance!
I have the new exn. It took a little bit to get used to the knobby. I could feei a transition from 1 row of tread to the other cornering. Higher psi and a few hundred miles and i dont feel it anymore. 6ft 185lbs runing 32psi. As far as acurate battery usage i'd have to pay better attention but i usually ride 20 miles top speed 35mph average speed 20mph start with 102 volts finsh with 96-97. Last sunday i did 60 miles of rough trail riding Daniel boone national forest in Kentucky top speed of 12mph average of 4mph don't remember battery. It was low but i was going so slow cause the trail was brutaly rough.i need to remember to push the data log button i always forget till halfway thru a ride.that's partly why i got the exn is i don't have to worry about battery % if you've been riding it for a couple hrs don't try to go 50mph and you'll be fine.
@@landed-blade5113 hey. I just bought one of the EX.N high speed versions. I live in Kentucky as well. How well does the weather proofing work on yours? Mine will mainly be for commuting and getting around town, but I might trail ride as well... My main question, though, is how bad has maintenance been on your wheel? I'm coming from an MSX 84v
Mine arrives next Friday! I’m not getting the new wheels until they are tested . My v11 and ks18 taught me the hard way. Wait until they fix the issues and then buy
@@GplusGains You mean if I go 50 mph all the time, the max range will be 25 miles ? Of course, I agree with that. Just like he mentioned it in the video, going at high speed for a short while is hard for the batteries. There is the average speed of a trip, and there is the maximum speed reached during the trip. All buyer must make sure to know what they buy.
@@yanickgenest1324 Hi! Did you order one, and are you happy with this model? I saw that one seller on Aliexpress are having sell out of this wheel now, -70% of the original price, so only around 700$ now. Sounds to good to be true, or not!? They say that they ship with the street tire and random HT or HS version.
Great review! As a three season commuter and business rider the last EUC I'd buy is a Gotway as they make horrible trash for those uses. If I were an enthusiast or sports rider who didn't care about all of the downsides then I might consider them. However I'd sooner get a V12 and call it a day.
My EXN's wrap with foam bumper pads ala choochtech & have even done his marine grease bearings treatment even though I do not live in a wet zone nor do I enjoy hanging out in the rain. But I might take it out in the snow one of these coming winter days. GW being GW, I didn't get the EXN for its premium build nor fantastic lighting (carry a Trunite TC20 for all wheels regardless). However I did get it for its all round goodness & in that respect, the EXN delivers, in spades. It keeps up to my bud's Sherman in speed & range for our rides. But I also rush in (up to be exact) where his Sherm fears to tread. Though still heavy, with jump pads & honeycombs I keep up with another bud's RSt on the dirtier looser stuff but ofcos, he kicks my butt up hills in speed. But I get to go, unlike the Sherman worrying about smokin mobos. IMO the EXN is likely the best 'real' allrounder. Good review! PS: What your buddy calls the GW noodles up whatever, Marty Baeke also coined it the "elevator effect". I agree & this is why I ride GWs inspite of GW
@@OWGAC Can you explain a little bit more about this? If you do not water proof it with marine grease, is the salt still more problematic than water? I heard they are not water proof at all. And why is salt more problematic?
Gotway makes great wheels. I have T3 with 1500 Wh battery and 22 kg. It is ultimate beast for the city. I also bought is crazy cheap (1290 USD). I did 70km on a single charge with no problem. I had cutoff at 58km/h with less than 50% of the battery (definatelly my fault) so this wheel is craazy fast. I have to say, please do not ride in t-shirt so fast :D.
Love this vid ! The only reason these guys don't say go get a sherman is because they are unavailable and most of these youtubers get supported on commission.
The newest version of the ex.n has a much better seal n mine doesn't get dusty on the inside but it loves to lean left at high speeds figured it's the dual battery packs on that side
Personally range depends on how you ride personally I torque my exn when needed if not just ride chill and I get about 40+ miles no problem but it all depends on riding condition weight and how you ride and if you torque It
Hsiang, brand new euc rider, subscriber & fan!! What brand/kind of wrist/cellphone holder is that? Looks comfy & durable & accessible!! Thanks for the amazing vids!!
You make me buy my first EUC 6 months ago. And, I love you for that 🤣. I've got a inmotion v10f, but after 2000 miles. I think I'm ready for my next one. I would like your opinion of the best, most reliable ewheel out there. Thanks
glad you are enjoying that v10f! well, its a difficult question really, Gotway/Veteran wheels require more work, but is easier to work on. inmotion/ Kingsong is more reliable, but are a bit harder to work on if something does go wrong. so it all depends on if you planning on doing repair/ maintenance on your own.
@@OWGAC I will definitely try to work on the repairs as much as I can on my onw. I've already changed a couple flats, and fixed some minor problems in my v10f. I think I'm going with the new veteran, but also, there is the S20, and it looks so tempting. I'm so confused 😂😂. Keep up the good work. Thanks a lot🙏
If you're not saying it, then I'm just hoping, they can do better! It seems like a commercial chess game, and the strategy is a 'one step forward two steps back' gambit. What's the magic combination?
You wasted hours of my life ! and I love you for it!! Great vid, now I know I need a monster pro. Not the EX.N. I finally got to ride a pro in Boston last Saturday and it's a lovable tank. I'll be in NY city on 10/2 visiting a friend. Hope to ride my S18 while I'm there. Can you ride around in central park?
Which battery packs do you have on yours? Jason slapped some mollicel battery packs in mine, I don’t really see the battery sagging like it does in your video.
@@jamesm217 nice. Which packs do you have in yours? I have the knobby as well. Im still trying to see how much range I can get, but so far it looks like im getting 45 miles+ distance cruising at around low 30’s mph
i have a few questions, i use darknessbot because i have an iphone and i have disabled the first two alarms but it still starts to obnoxiously beep at me when i hit about 22mph so my second question is does the firmware use mph or kph, but the main question is how to just stop the beeping when im not going that fast?
A short and comprehensive review of your video: Main fault: You reviewed a totally old version! The Actual EXN has a different and PERFECT mudflap….has NO waterproof problems any more, is perfectly sealed whith special seals around the shell, has no holes anymore whatsoever, has a black motherboard, that is firmware upgradeable like on KS and IM, and some other important improvements your review TOTALLY missed. I actually looked at the „reveal“ date of your video, if its allready a year old or so…..but unfortunately its an actual review from september 2021. The range problems are also gone and away, at least i, with my 105kg, can easy get 100-130km out of one charge depending on ride style. while i appreciate your vidoes in general…this one -unfortunatly- just totally missed the point.
I was surprised at his range. I easily get over 60 miles on my exn. I do 40 miles round trip from Brooklyn to the Bronx and back and still have enough to run errands for the next day or 2.
Nice👍 which version you ride HS or HT. What do you think of the HT version?. I'm thinking of getting one coz that's the only version we getting in New Zealand. From a local shop selling. HT. New black box and other updated features?
keep in mind that I have ridden 1st ave on a daily basis for at least the last 20 years so as crazy as it looks it is a "controlled environment" for me but knock on wood! But everyone's ability and experience is different and if you ride within your comfort zone and leave a nice buffer you should be fine.
@@OWGAC Yeah I definitely understand that. I was just thinking that should anything unexpected happen you're really vulnerable, especially when you're pushing the top speed of wheels doing over 40 mph and almost 50 mph! Most guys like that, that I know wear full gear for going those speeds.
I like Hsiang channel he is the only EUC youtuber I am subscribed toobunlike the other asd kissers like Chooch whobare constantly trying to sell stuff via their affiliate links. Now onto this video the EXN is a great wheel that has not had enough coverage its a shame on this occasion Hsiang reviewedbthis unicycle late and did not review the latest model that addressed some of the rhings he highlighted. i would love hsiang to recview the new EXN torque. keep up the good work until the next time stand up tall. Mr6ft2
Everything I have seen and heard says that it is an EX.N with a bit more battery, I thought about making a preview video but couldn't think of anything interesting thing to say about that.
@@OWGAC I just bought one, paid yesterday, should be a week for delivery to my hand. I never actually see and try it before, but size; battery; performance is my thing. ^_^
Sorry this made me laugh a little😂 You want fast, EX N speed, Sherman or monster pro. Cheapest is exn speed at like $3k+ if that's cheap to you, go for it
@@OWGAC No problem. Soon to be new rider here. I have 2 EUC's on order. A V8F to learn on and then the V11 to ride and then I might order the S20 after everyone troubleshoots the initial 1st run issues. I like your editing and the easy listening style of your commentary. Or whatever. Not really sure how to describe that. I agree with the other comments... underrated channel for sure.
He’s riding in the street the entire video, 😂 clearly it’s not an issue…. That scooter accident has nothing to do with euc, so nothing has changed for euc riders in the city but Euc aren’t classified as street legal either in nyc as per the D.O.T so take that as you will.
Um 49mph no armour elbows, knees, shoulders, back, hips, or full face (as such), as much as I love your videos it would be nice to have you around a bit longer :-) If you come off I'm afraid we will have to insist you do your video's in plaster - no excuses!
I love these videos but idk why he keeps comparing things to the veteran sherman. I just received my Sherman yesterday but they have been out of stock since the end of July.
Sherman owners have a reputation of talking up the Sherman's and trash talking anything else, especially the EXN. I think that's why the direct comparison.
@@MikeMPharmaCyclist gotcha ! New to the community and I think all these wheels are great ! I'm just happy to go the length of my backyard today ! Learning one step at a time !
Yea, no. For some... I'd rather get a MSP Rs19 HT or speed version. OR invest a few bucks more and wait for one of the newer models. I don't share the sentiment of it being a bargain. Investing 3k $ +/- 300 doesn't really matter at this point. Not like you buy one of these every year anyways.
I popped the tire on my veteran sherman so I need to open it up and fix it. I'm wondering if you've had to open it up or know of any methods that are the easiest/most efficient? In this video at 2:20 you can see this person has a unique method of splitting the wheel in half to not have to remove all the batteries and wiring which is one to consider: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KccKo3nGT4k.html I'm wondering how many ways there are to do it because there are no simple video tutorials from most companies
EXN total crap it doesnt have any range - like 20-25 miles at 40 mph, we tested this piece of ""art"" during our last Montauk ride. highly not recommending this wheel!
Who cares, euc is an E-BIKE and should go at ebike speeds... 40 km/h... I bet any amount of money that chinbar will give way to a very flat face in a faceplant...
for a $3,000 product yes that is totally reasonable! unfortunately we just don't have a better option when it comes to high performance wheels. Especially now that the sherman is nearly $4,000!!
