I agree. It comes through in his voice. And the fact that he's performing with long time friends. And how he isn't afraid to experiment with sound, presenting it to people. Gifted musicians who know themselves. An inspiration.
Yeah, word "real" is really the good one to discribe him. Of course I understand that everyone have their oun problems but on scene Gotye is a ray of light that makes me positive
So much talent in one man. Gotye is the prime example of why "computer music" or "laptop music" or "techno shit" is just as incredibly important as guitar and drums. Bloody exceptional.
The "desperate to CONNECT" that yell oh my freakin god, pierces my soul, brings tears to my eyes...he is truly a rarity in music and as a human being...I hope hope hope we get to hear a fourth album...or we will enjoy his music with his band The Basics if not.
@Killjoy "Real fan" is a meaningless term. How much do you have to know about an artist to be a true fan? How many of their songs do you have to like? 50% of their catalogue? 75%? Again, a meaningless term.
Gotye's concert was the absolute best display of musical genius I have ever witnessed. Will go see him every single chance I get for the rest of my life.

Oh my goodness I'm in Michigan! I could kick myself for not being more aware of him. Now I'm obsessed and so is my 6 year old daughter. I know he's recording with his band "The Basics" again. I pray all the time that I can see him at least ONCE! He is a musical genius and such a kind soul. Which College did you see him at? I live near U of M. I highly doubt he'll ever come back to Detroit Michigan but I will go wherever he does in the US to see him. 🥰🙏
