To Govee: here, just take my money. I began my lighting journey with a 3-channel mechanical chaser in 1980 by wiring 3 strands of Christmas lights to it and arranging them in a straight line very similar to this Govee lamp. No special effects or speed control, just a noisy motorized clicking but I was the light king of the neighborhood! Govee needs to hire you as their official spokesman. Seriously. 👍🏾
Loving all the videos you post, I can see this channel blowing up. Everyone seems to want to have RGB lights in their room/homes but so many people are uneducated and just put exposed LED strips on the walls. Your video definitely have a solid target audience in mind and fill a gap that many creators are missing out on. Keep up the great work!
Hey Govee, hope you are reading the comments. If you guys can somehow get all your products to sync with the TV immersion kit I would buy every one of your light bars and lamps! Hopefully that's a possibility you are looking into. The floor lamp is nice but it's not $150 or even after the discounts currently $110 nice. I saw this and thought anything over $80 is just to much. MrTek your reviews are always spot on man, here's another well deserved like 👍🏻
Damnnnn these would go CRAZYYY if they worked with the immerson camera and could use them like the bars and include like a longer cable to connect to the hub that connects to the camera to place it further from each ends of the tv or stand, I'd pay extra for it.
If you don't have the hot setup MrTek has with the wall panels where the lights really reflect well... I think turning the Lyra around so the lights are facing you is the way to go. I'm a fan of Lava lamps and Cololight hexagon type stuff and find the Lyra just a really cool lamp to incorporate around that type setup/area. I also just got the newest Govee Immersion Kit and because of the rooms setup and restraints I decided to mount the Light Bars on the wall on each side of the 65 inch wall mounted C9 LG OLED. Once again in this case( like the Lyra) with the lights facing out instead of towards the plain painted wall you get some great colors and cool color combinations which are very pleasing to look at over if they were facing a normal wall and not really popping. Experimenting is the way to go
Good review… next time maybe show the lamp as the only light source for the room? Seeing 15x close ups of the light with an rgb filled room doesn’t do much
Happened to be on just at this time, responding to comments. Did you not make it to the features portion of the video where I show the Color temperatures and brightness of the Lyra independently?
Man I stumbled across your channel and I’m am just loving the content! Something about RGB lighting just soothes me. I also love that you say energic 😁 Keep up the great work!
Very good Review as usual, I was going to buy this immediately as soon as this video popped up, the only thing that turned me away was the price. Govee seemed to be making a name for themselves in the affordable market which is why my whole room is Govee products, even with the code the price still seems steep to me. With all that being said I will more than likely still buy it while its on sale but hopefully in the future the prices will stay lower. Oh and what’s the name of the star projector your using? Looks dope! Did I miss a review on it?
I hear ya! This ones a bit of an investment for sure. Here is my review on the Sky Lite projector: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GScN6MG3PHM.html
This video (and also discount code) really tempts me to buy. I've bought Govee tv ambient backlight, aura, and glow before so I'm sure it will be good. But since I am living out of States, the shipping cost (that one is heavy and shipping alone costs $32) and import taxes sometimes discourage me into splurging lol. Also 4.8 ft (1.46 m) tall seems not tall enough if you place it on the floor.
@@MrTekSuggest I live in Asia currently, there's no other way other than Amazon to buy Govee products. I love your reviews so far for all RGB products, keep it up!
Was thinking about buying this to enhance the background of my business steering’s. Brilliant review thank you so much. Love your videos man keep smashing it.
I appreciate it 😁 and I understand! The good thing about the majority of Govee products, is that they have a very long shelf life. So most of them are still very much desired even with late stocked items.
You know, I really like the way you think! Like an Aura style base with 360 rgb capability. A similar thought crossed my mind as well. One heck of a power brick would be required to power such a device, but man oh man would it be something.
Can you adjust the light settings of multiple lyras at the same time? Or do you have to adjust each one individually.. I.e. if I set 4 different gradients across 4 different lights, can I save all these together as a scene which covers all lights? Or would I have to go back and adjust each one individually?
It's really tempting to get 2 of these and pair them next to my 80 inch TV since my TV mount isn't swiveling (and the immersion lights don't support 80inch TVs yet.) But the price, though. :(
Man thanks for your videos I been thinking about getting this. I'm thinking about setting up my apartment with just govee lights because of your videos man
Great review, thank you. At 4:35, very useful tip. I have the Govee Aura, but now I want one of these. (Just a small comment on the review, I don’t think your use of the background to showcase the Lyra was very useful. Just a blank wall would of been better suited. Just my personal opinion). Many thanks again.
Hi and thanks for your time on this video! It was very helpful Can you please tell me the name and/or model of the white thing on the wall? I don’t know what to call it but am interested in buying it
Nice Video! Mr T I have a question for you. What star projector are you using. I think I will have to get this lamp because I think it will go well with the Glow Lamps and the Glides really nicely. Actually it goes with it all. I would of like to see the base a little smaller. BTW I love my CX however I did'nt realize that the C1 Had a gaming menu. Its pretty awesome. I cant wait for the next gen OLED'S by LG. Also Sony is really making a move at LG. Their a90J and A80J are really nice. When do you think 8K will hit the market at the consumer level by a quality brand? Be cool brother and Happy 4th to you.
Hey man! I am using the sky light blue green combo shown in this review here: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-GScN6MG3PHM.html and I have the CX as well. I think at the moment, it is the best gaming TV bang for buck. Now if money is no object, C1 or G1 all day for gamers. But in my opinion the moderate improvements don't justify the discrepancy in cost. And I've heard really good things about Sony's A90J/A80J but boy are they extraordinarily expensive. And not to mention that they fall short of Sonys OLED line where gaming features are concerned. Starting with only 2 HDMI 2.1 ports (LG has 4) for the Sony and 1 of the ports are the Audio return, which really leaves you with only 1 HDmi 2.1 port. And no VRR at the moment! And man as far as your 8K question...pfft we're probably 3/4 years before the contact catches up and we start this really see viable 8K options (some are out there already) but they just don't make a lot of sense right now.
I don't get the power cord issue.... How is it a design flaw? Did they not realize the power cord would be plainly visible when positioned correctly with the light directed back against a wall? It seems like the equivalent of a car manufacturer omitting wheels from an otherwise flawless design. But I have another question. My lights now are Hue and Lifx primarily, all integrated through Google Home, which also connects security cams and speakers. I greatly appreciate the simplicity of this set up and I like the convenience of controlling everything from my phone or the Nest Hub. The problem with some of these products is that they're too damned expensive. I'm hoping to incorporate some Govee products because they seem to be good quality at a lower cost. My concern is all the horror stories I'm reading on Amazon or seeing in YT reviews about pairing issues with brands that work through Smart Life. Question is: Have you tried integrating the Lyra lamps (and other Govee products) into Google Home? I really don't want to use the separate remotes and apps that come with all the different brands.
Hey man. Alexa is my driver for all smart products in home. But Google Home assistant is fully compatible, and you can set up routine/schedules as you see fit to perform automations
thanks so much for the promo code !!!!!!!!!!!!! I own all the Govee products NOW; and with the RGBIC light strips I have made my own floor lamps and more. I've watched many videos on RU-vid and have made Hexagon wall lamp like nanoleaf using the RGBIC strips!!
To me the product is great but lacks one key feature. To set this apart from the rest the base should light up as well and this would also distract attention from the power source.
Being able to change the colors is cool but all these products should be able to sync with the immersion and flow pro lights. I want a couple of these lamps but don’t think its worth it if they can’t sync with my tv.
Thanks for the great review! Do you have any sense if Govee intends to eventually integrate the Lyra with their TV immersion backlight system? I just bought the updated backlight based your review, so that feature would totally seal the deal for me with 2x floor lamps to complete the home theater setup
@@MrTekSuggest please get back to us on this.....i got the immersion today..and its amazing so im already looking to expand on that...id buy 4 of these floor lamps on the spot if it link to the immersion
@@jayjackson9530 What’s up guys? I don’t have any concrete evidence right now that The floor lamps are going to be able to leverage color sync. These lamps are really dope, but if purchasing them are solely contingent on that feature, then I would hold off
Hey, have you receive your Hexa panels yet???? I just got two sets ordered and also have you checkout these - Govee Smart Light Bulbs, WiFi & Bluetooth Music Sync Color Changing Light Bulbs
Just found this channel and you have great content. The videos you're playing in the demos look incredible. Do you have any links or details to where you found them at?
I just received notice that this code is unfortunately no longer available due to limited Amazon inventory. If I am able to obtain a new code, I will let you guys know!
Fantastic and informative as always keep it up. I just have one request! Stop posting so many excellent videos. I'm from the UK so so these products are a bit dearer here. I don't think my bank will be able to take much more 😂😂😂😂
loving the content and information. I'll be using quite a bit of Govee in my new setup. I should send you pics of the final setup! What wall panels are shown at the 7:00 mark? Keep up the good work
Appreciate it, thanks for the support! Definitely send me photos IG @mrteksuggest! And the panels there are the geometric panels. You can find a link in the description.
A bit on the expensive side and a lot of the govee products could do with better cable management. Some cables are too short, some the WiFi receiver should be closer to the plug not the lamp. Govee just need to work on the small details and they will be way ahead of anyone else.
Some good points here! Placing the Wi-Fi receiver closer towards the wall plug would help to give things a cleaner look. It's possible that the rationale is to have the receiver in better range for either wifi or the remote signals as well. Also so that the internal microphone can better receive audio. Because outlets are generally placed very low to the ground.
I wish you would have waited for this video to come out so I could have got the extra 20% off I ordered mine on father's day from the govee website and at that time this wasn't listed on Amazon.
Hey! Technically true. Siri is a bit more limited though, and I believe that it only works for Wi-Fi compatible devices. Custom shortcuts have to be set up as opposed to more general commands that Alexa and Google allow
