Increased no.of. retail traders, so government deciding to earn more by imposing tax burden on them. 2nd thing is sebi saying high potential of destabilization... Maybe fii and dii these many years manipulates the direction these many years... As retail investors arrival and trading decision is not informed to fii and dii.. So they may facing loss. So to "stabilize" their market, they trying to restrict retail.

As per SEBI statistics, 94% of People lose in the F&O segment. Only that 6% wins. So Why normal people should worry about taxing here. Of course, as you said, the market will fall but that's the best opportunity to buy for positional traders. The so-called FII should worry and my suggestion is that guys' earnings from RU-vid should come under speculative income. The government can get more income and This will be helpful to reduce the tax on other products such as petrol etc.,,

Speculative income Tax calculation : If govt announced business income considered by speculative income while income sourced by F&O or Invest in Indian market may paid by Every Rs.300/- for Earning Rs.1000/- It's too high. I'm quitting my trading after that announced if done.
