First, we examine the Trudeau government's proposed $200 million Online Harms Bill. We break down the bill's objectives, the potential impact on online freedom and safety, and the public's mixed reactions to this significant legislation.
Next, we delve into the troubling rise in Canada's unemployment rate. We discuss the factors contributing to this increase, the sectors most affected, and the broader economic implications for the nation.
Amidst these challenges, we also highlight the alarming trend of people leaving Canada in droves. We investigate the reasons behind this mass exodus, the destinations Canadians are flocking to, and what this means for the country's future.
Adding to the economic strain, we discuss the possibility of a new surtax on housing. We explore the potential consequences for homeowners and the real estate market, and debate whether this measure could help address housing affordability or exacerbate existing issues.
Lastly, we confront the sobering reality of household debt reaching an all-time high. We analyze the factors driving this debt crisis, the risks it poses to financial stability, and the steps Canadians can take to manage their finances in these turbulent times.

France left, UK left. 'The United Kingdom's decision to hand the left Labour Party a parliamentary majority comes at the same time Europe is broadly in the grip of what some call a right-wing populist surge.' The right LePen received more votes, so the majority of population is not represented.

As someone who lives in a rural area about an hour from Halifax, I don’t want more people out here. Since 2020 we have seen the effects of mass immigration from both inside and outside of the country. Property prices have jumped 60% plus and the tax’s along with it

If the Blackface liberals are so concerned about climate change due to carbon why do they want to increase our population to 100 million by the end of the century.

I'm in BC. Struggling to keep my house afloat, owned it since 2016. Renew in 2025. BCNDP are making it next to impossible to be a landlord. I built a suite, that I've kept empty as I'm trying to decide whether or not to sell, or rent the suite out. Government has now made it 4 months notice, if you want to take possession of the suite for personal use. I have friends who had bad renters, trashed their place, didn't pay rent, and it took almost a year to get rid of them. We are being overly managed in every facet of Canadian life, Too much government and managers at every level of Canadian life. Oh, and my city is a 15 minute city, with drug addicts everywhere, drugs supplied courtesy of the working taxpayer.

My wife and I have been talking about leaving the country for a few years now. But we don't want to leave our elderly parents, as they are not in any shape to leave it all behind. Grinning and bearing it for now...

@@JamesThompson-vs4kg You're probably right. Its been so difficult for us, as our household has been struggling. However, if those of us who are able to leave are gone, we leave behind those who are even more helpless than us. Your comment is a more moral one than mine, I suppose. Just can't see much light at the end of the tunnel. That, and my wife wants to live in a warmer climate, lol.

I only have about 10 years left on my mortgage, but that's about the only financial saving grace. I've been reduced to selling animated 3d "corn" as a side-hustle just to be able to go out occasionally (forget about trips). I'm staying as long as my parents are still around, after that will probably sell and apply for US residency in some rural state.

We are getting what we deserve. I knew this was going to happen. You believed 3 small deficits and the budget balances it's self. Take some personal responsibility and use your voice. Contact your MP and all if them. Put the pressure on them to call an election now. If you don't stop the bleeding now we won't survive this. Fight for yourself because no politician is coming to save you.

My wife and I got here 8 years ago as PR's. We decided to immigrate to Canada because of Toronto. It matched our life style too well when we visited for 3 months in 2014. When we got here in 2016 there were already signs of change but it was still great and better than almost anything out there. Now we talk about leaving more often than not and there's a big chance we will do so. We uprooted our lives 8 years ago to come here. Left family, friends, job and house behind and if we have to do it again, there's no point in moving to a different province, I am taking everything I have and leaving. We didn't come to Canada wanting to get rich, it was definitely not the country for that, but we also didn't want to be poor, and although we are very fortunate, we are much worse Today than we were two years ago, or even 4, tbh. Also, I disagree with your assessment that it will take as much time to rebuild as it took to break. Rebuilding and fixing all the crap that was done in the past few years will take much longer than that.

Alberta has had access to our medical records for a long time. Even years ago you could request copies of documents. Now you pay for them to print it. They were always your records. Alberta is all linked so that's nice when you see a specialist.

Rough one guys, I’ve been thinking of leaving but it doesn’t make sense yet. But if I were to leave it would be to another country. I’m an electrical engineer and these skills are transportable. Oh and 15 min cities are crazy when you dig into enforcement. Yikes. Good job you two, keep bringing the truth out.

Housing prices won’t be going down even if inventory increases because building costs have gone up almost 70% in the last 5 years from stats I saw on AJ’s TikTok. Also I thought the proposed tax on principle residences was supposed to go down as you resided in the dwelling longer but maybe I misunderstood something - I thought it was to penalize house flippers. Which is also ridiculous because they fix up unsaleable houses and make them desirable to the market again - so why would you want to de incentive that? I’m so confused by Trudeau’s govt lol
