A coalition of civil society organizations in Kenya has issued a series of demands to the government, insisting on their conditions before entering into any dialogue. Their first demand is for the government to publicly acknowledge and apologize to all victims of police brutality by name. They have also called for recognition and compensation for media houses targeted during recent events. The coalition is emphasizing the need to address pressing challenges such as the new funding model for universities that is a barrier for young people to access education.
