You are way out of date. Insurance has gone up in every state, but more insurance companies are now returning to FL and a few have dropped prices a bit.

How much has the value of your home also gone up in the past three years? Higher value means higher premiums to insure it!

@@JeanetteSullivan1 It's out of proportion. Homeowners insurance is outrageous. It's been over the past 3 yrs. They keep making up excuses as to why it's so high or why they are dropping people who never had a claim.

Pay off your house, save up the rebuild cost, and then take on the risk yourself is the real answer. If your house would cost $200,000 to rebuild (you are not purchasing the land or location again, just building a house) and you spend $10,000 a year on insurance. Literally, you are paying to rebuild your house every 20 years. It would be better to just put $200,000 away, and self-insure. Not advice, ask your licensed insurance agent. It's true though.

My CA friends think I'm nuts, but I intend to write the governor's office to ask if I may attend a press conference, any press conference. They say, "He's not gonna respond to some girl from California who wants to shake his hand." I disagree. Betcha anything I will get a response from his office, when the time comes. I am willing to travel to FL simply to witness that man in action. I'll listen to him drone on over policy -- over a visit to Disney World or the Florida Keys, any day. 😁 You gators are blessed, you really are. I could go on for pages about how the lockdowns destroyed lives, here. The suffering my family has endured... I was cheering when DeSantis demolished "our" Governor Newsom in that debate on Hannity. Ron was brilliant. He's the governor of Florida, but he was speaking for US. Though I had never been on social media, prior... I even started an IG page (@DeSanityVotary) when Ron was running for president. I wanted him to wait until 2028 to run. But I'm glad he got the experience of campaigning on the nat'l stage. FL is not the place to be if you are low income, in need of social services, medicaid, government subsidies. His policies improve the lives of the upper Middle class and wealthy. He is doing everything to avoid the Californiacation of Florida. Not that it's a bad thing, depends where you fall in the socioeconomic class of Florida society.

When someone is on the payroll with pension paid by the taxpayers, they can afford to live well in Florida.

All the laws he passes don't really fix anything. We have very little in regards to social programs for the needy. Insurance costs are crazy high. Crazy drivers on the road and lax laws. On a rate of 1 to 10. He's a 6. And I'm a Republican

What the problem with him? I mean Florida is all red not Hitler de governor, the house, the senate, the Supreme Court, the 2 federal senators everything is control by republicans since 1998. @debrakelly4505 Debrah I'm a Republican but I'm a free thinker ad well. I don't think DeSantis is a bad govern bit I do feel he passes laws that really don't impact many Florida's but is another checked box under his name for when he tried for President in 2028. I'll give you examples. Passing laws to have homeowners able to remove squatters is a great think but squatting is not a huge problem here in Florda. What we are missing are great people in our Florida House and Senate that can bring real change but they're don't. You realize Florida doesn't have a small town feel to it besides north central and the panhandle. As a former NY resident, upstate NY, not that crazy NY island..grew up in the country, Florida only existed to become a money lauderening scheme for NY. Make all the money there and spend it here and it has made Florida so expensive, worse thrm California because we are expensive and have low salaries on average. Our state government has done nothing to combat that because it doesn't impact them and as long as thr money keeps rolling in to Florida. They don't care. And that includes DeSantis

Austin boot maker Graham Ebner also pointed out the obvious wiggle room DeSantis has in his boot’s “toe spring,” the area where a wearer’s toes curl up. Ebner said it wouldn’t make sense for the boots to have that much room “unless the heels were being lifted dramatically.”

London shoemaker Nicholas Templeman noted that the widest part of a shoe is usually toward the front, where the pad of one’s foot rests on the ground, but that DeSantis’s foot appears widest in the middle of his boot. “If you put lifts inside a pair of ready made boots, you’re going to put the front of your foot in the middle of the boot, which is not shaped for the widest part of your foot,” Templeman said. “This will push out the leather and cause it to hang over the boot"
