Where are raises comparable to your min wage increases and fast food workers for state workers? Were all getting poorer because of you. You keep increasing min wage but state workers in the middle get nothing.

What a joke, you offer underpaid state works meager salary adjustments. Erode the benefits that make state work marginally attractive. All after hammering is with an unnecessary furlough which helped you build a massive surplus.

Is that why you're making them return to the office, which costs them both time and money, during a deficit? In spite of your championing of how much working from home helped the state save? Is that why you had the Chiefs of each department do it, instead of taking responsibility for how Commerce Boards money basically paid you to rob us of time with our families in the hopes that they could squeeze a few drops from us working downtown?

The work definitely matters but fair compensation doesn’t under Gavin’s administration.

We don't want your words, we want your actions! Do not patronize state workers, state scientists, or CA voters.

Talk is cheap. You consistently low-ball, undervalue, and under appreciate us every chance you get. Start paying us a fair wage. State wages have significantly fallen behind equivalent jobs in the private sector and local governments. You can start by giving state scientists the fair contract they deserve.

State Scientists have been out of contract for 3 years! If you value science and scientists then why don't you pay a livable wage to your own employees. All we've seen during the 3 years of bargaining is disrespect and delay tactics! If the State violates it's own like pay for like work laws then what's the point of these laws?! This year, state scientists made history by going on strike after going three years without a contact - the first strike by state workers in CA history. Governor, you can show your thanks by giving your scientists the respect they deserve. Equal pay for equal work.

These comments would really get me thinking if I was you. All the comments are negative and reflect how bad of a govenor you are and not doing anything to make it better. The three positive comments are probably from people who probably don't even work for CA or live here.

We’re a dedicated group of folks who do important work for the people and resources of CA and we’ve been out of contract for nearly 4 years. Actions speak louder than words Mr. Governor. CA state employees sacrificed a lot during the pandemic to ensure our great state was able to achieve its goals. But when the time came to make it up to state employees with a $100B surplus, what did you do? You chose to become the most anti-labor, anti-working class governor you could. Now, many state employees can't afford housing and other basic necessities. Since 1975, state employees have lost an average of 12% in their real wages, and you have done nothing to help correct that. You won't even allow 100% telework, which saves state employees money every month and allows them flexibility in where they live. So save me the hollow words, and make up for it with real substantive actions. As someone who did vote for you, I can say that won't be happening again.

Appreciation is nice, but we need fair compensation so we can keep working hard for the people of California. We love our work but many of us are getting priced out. State scientists need competitive and equitable salaries.

You don't care about us state workers. It has been 3.5 years since I received a pay raise during a time inflation has been ridiculous. You have allowed PG&E & insurance companies to raise their rates astronomically in addition the rates for other home services have also gone up. My property taxes go up every year and the health insurance has also gone up, everything has gone up but my pay. Then throw in the outrageous cost of fuel and food, I cannot save any money to pay for any of the new HO insurance requirements. I have been burning through my rainy day money because of these rate hikes and inflation. You definitely don't appreciate us since you are allowing the pay disparity between us and the engineers and us and the supervisors and you will be the reason we lose our homes.

I am career state scientist and for nearly 20 years we have been historically underpaid compared to our other technical colleagues, and those in similar federal, county, city, and private sectors. I wish you cared. State workers as a whole are struggling. YOUR state scientists worked tirelessly through COVID and didn't complain when you furloughed us. Do you enjoy watching us live paycheck to paycheck??? Where is our equitable pay???? All of California suffers because you refuse to treat us with dignity and give us a fair working salary.
