Govinda's co-stars Raveena and Karisma are doing age appropriate roles but Govinda is still adamant on thumka maroing at 60. I like Govinda but I don't know why he is destroying his image.
I think he can still do lead roles , there are art movie scripts which can make that possible, like a horror movie , he can play father as a lead. Movie like "kaamyab" by sanjay mishra. But he is fetching the block buster masala start image. Honestly so called masala movie star also flopping on box office, he had the opportunity to shine above them with meaningful roles. it's sad to see.

Bobby Deol is prime example that how one can make a comeback and be still relevant in today's time. His web series may not be excellent but he is adapting to change times and is not stuck in 90s
Apparently a similar thing had happened with Rajesh Khanna.... even after his time as a star on the screen was over and he'd become irrelevant, he continued behaving like a "superstar" in his real life, throwing tantrums, wanting ppl to treat him like a king, fall to his feet and so on......I actually feel sorry for such ppl, delusion is a legit sickness

To be honest I feel like Govinda's movies were always like this. Eve teasing women and that thumka maroing dance. The only difference is at that time this was considered romantic, funny and entertaining and now people call out such behaviour.
Those things were considered funny because of his awesome acting, but unfortunately he is not accepting that phase has passed and now he should accept roles according to his age.

Even Amitabh Bachchan..who ruled the 70s..struggled a lot in the 90s..he was already in his late 50s by the time 2000 arrived and he was still doing the typical films he used to do… Then KBC & Mohabbatein happened in 2000 followed by K3G in 2001,and Mr Bachchan has never looked back since!! He reinvented himself like a pro!!! Hope Govinda too reinvents himself!!!

Last time I saw him was in the movie Kill Dil & he ws probably the only good thing about that film He can excel in doing character roles not just in OTT but in mainstream cinema as well, but for that he needs to come out of his delusions which doesn't seem very likely He could've very easily rose up to the level of Paresh Rawal, Sanjay Mishra, Piyush Mishra, Vijay Raaz etc., defnitely not in terms of acting capabilities but in terms of being loved & appreciated But he chose to become a B-grade celeb #stopgovinda
No matter how problematic they may be in hindsight, his comedy movies like Dulhe Raja, Haseena maan jaayegi, Jodi no.1 etc will always remain special for an entire generation. It is very sad to see an icon of our age indulging in such stupidity. I hope he gets his footing back.

Govinda was no doubt big super Star in 90s. He had amazing movies. But it wasn’t only him in movies. There were other co actors who made those movies really funny like kadar khan , asrani, paresh rawal, anupam keje, Johnny lever and many more. So stop saying it was only govinda.

I never liked Govinda's comedy. Even those David Dhawan films were silly, to say the least. In fact Govinda was good only during the 80s, when he was an action hero. During the 90s, he became clownish with his comic roles post Shola aur Shabnam, which was still a better film than what followed it. After Shola aur Shabnam came the No.1 movies which were filled with slapstick comedy and double-meaning dialogues and songs. Raja Babu was the film with which his downfall started, according to me. Then came the No.1 movies, culminating in Aunty No.1 which is simply unwatchable. Now compare this period with the period when he did such superb films like Ilzaam, Awargi, Hatya, Marte Dam Tak, Jeete Hain Shaan Se, Jung Baaz, Taaqatwar and Gair Kanooni. Those films, along with family dramas such as Khudgarz, Dariya Dil, Ghar Ghar Ki Kahani and Swarg, are the movies in which Govinda excelled as a true actor. The comic bits he did in these action and family drama films were more subtle and refined than the ones he did in the late 90s, where he was reduced to a caricature and made to dance wearing flashy costumes.

I still remember watching govinda's Gambler. Although it was a flop yet I loved him in the movie. His acting and comic timing was awesome. But now after watching him in such videos......it is very sad.
