Great video. I've actually already done this video. I plan on a redux version eventually. But it might be a bit, I'm running a new suppressor through paces, ditto on the mawl. For the short term: While I do review guns, I have two rifles that I do not change, and are configured near identically. Always zero'd, ready to go. Elcan 1-4x, laser, light, 11.3, suppressor. The real funny callout would be hop, dude constantly messes with his go to war guns every other day.

I m no longer capable of going to war. I will, however, assist those who do answer the call. My gear I use will depend on the job. To collect info/shore, watch I will carry 9mm pistols and a PCC also in 9mm. To operate radio relay stations, I will use a basic AR 15. My goal is to be ignored by hostile elements. My gear is a mixture of sportsmen and paramilitary gear. I would only engage to protect life. What I have will be replaced by better gear when events make it possible. I prefer simple and reliable over anything else. I put more into quality training than gear.

Right now my go to rifle is a Steyr AUG with a TA11 crosshair ACOG, RMR combo and a light. Sling is a viking tactics sling, I like their mechanism better than others. Blue Force Gear is good to go too. The AUG can be found for ~$1400 these days. If you want a bullpup, it's still worth looking at. I'll be honest and say that Die Hard and CounterStrike have corrupted my fragile little mind so I had to get one eventually. I assembled an AR-15 but I haven't shot it enough to trust it so the AUG is the go to.

Damn, seeing that humongous can actually was a vibe and I thought I understood your thought process. Short barrel, massive can, huge amounts of noise and flash suppression, not that much relative length. If I could make a simple suggestion, don’t get a K can bro. Stick with the long boys. It’ll be shorter and lighter than what you have now and be more effective if you choose a more modern model. Same premise but better in literally every way. A K can sacrifices performance.

@@sodakhilljack7147 Right, I hear you. This is just one video though, the preparedness conversation both online and in communities overall emphasizes self reliance which would include all the topics you talked about. Personal security is indeed only one aspect, just like being self reliant for food shelter and water is another. Not everyone can access land either. Here on the east coast 1/4acre cost me 120k. Theres a-lot of major upfront cost that comes with efficiently keeping up and maintaining what you have. And financial self reliance is important to. How many people don't own their land or their vehicles and other tools for management? If the bank owns you you aren't any better. As far as the historical comparison goes its really half true, we are in an unprecedented time in American history I actually don't think you can definitively say civilians with tactics and gear is not necessary. Make the militia great again. If we see a financial implosion, a complete disregard for the constitution, the collapse of institutions. All of these things are also relevant to personal and communal security. The millitias or people should have = or greater than the government. It makes complete sense to invest in these things. The attitude of "that cant happen here, thats not your job go join police or military" is exactly what got us into this mess with centralized power..... My FBI agent rolled his eyes and sank down in his chair and went to go get more coffee

Heres a very day to day non extreme example. Im a predator hunter as in coyotes/foxes. I often help farmers btw. I have thermals and NV, though I dont always use it. When an escaped convict who murdered two people escaped prison in my area I would take my thermal handhelds on my drive leave earlier and scan fields and woodline on my normal day trips. I dont see how thats laarping or how more people having that who are experienced with moving and hunting at night is somehow a bad thing? I later found out like none of the guys searching until bordertac showed up had thermals. Now "im not aloud to help because thats not my job" but I dont see how if 25% More of my neighbors had just thermals to scan their woods would be a bad thing. Dude wouldn't have lasted 2 weeks. Instead he snuck around breaking into peoples homes and even stole a .22 off of some retard who missed 9 times with his gay 1911. Im not knocking the dirty 30 but like everyone says not in my neighborhood i got my trusty shotgun or 1911 but can you actually use it? I think my community failed in that aspect and to pretend like a guy who is taking it seriously and has gear is somehow a laarper when people who have the "I got my 1911 and thats all I need" were the ones who completely failed to stop a criminal and gave him a weapon. When it comes to preparedness I'll take someone more serious over the "thats not realistic" attitude any day because that attitude works until it doesnt. Theres literally no downside to level headed guys who want to be serious

I want everyone who's worth a damn to make it, most of the dudes that are kitted out like this guy are probably ok. Like you said you were helping your neighbors, case and point. The vegetation where I am makes 90% of nvgs and thermals worthless six months out of the year. The rest of the time they are not really needed. That's all I'm saying I'm not a fudd I promise! Killflashes/ARD and light caps are the dumbest things. I do lots of FOF and I've always come to the conclusion how useless those items are. No one wants to listen but I'm always saying if you ain't shooting your rifle there is no point to raise it and the chances of the sun reflecting on your light is like impossible since it would be pointing downwards. Either use more tactile switches or get a light that has a lockout mode that can be easily switched off like any handheld light.

My go-to combination is probably going to be constantly evolving as technology improves, as situations globally and locally evolve, and as my "mission" changes over time (am I defending from criminals, am I preparing for a near peer invasion of the homeland, have the aliens finally landed/the zombie outbreaks started, etc). But right now we're looking at an AR chambered in 5.56, a 1 in 8 twist 16" govt profile barrel that's CHF for the long haul, a PA 3x Microprism (aka the poor man's ACOG), offset Magpul Pro irons that are actually zeroed, a Streamlight HL-X, and a Magpul bipod. All strung up to a QD'd Magpul sling, and with B5 furniture because it came with the gun and works. Doesn't hurt that you can fit a multitool in the recoil pad and spare batteries in the grip. Works out well as a general purpose gun for my needs and with consideration to my current capabilities. While having IR light and laser modules is all the rage... they're kind of useless to me since I don't have nods and won't likely have the funds for a pair for quite a while. Similar story with a suppressor, with the added hassle of also needing to wait a year for the King's permission. But what I do get is decent capability and a whole lot of reliability in a reasonably weighted package. I also lessen my reliability on needing support or resupply to keep the rifle in action. Batteries die? No problem, reticle is etched. Glass gets damaged? No problem, we got irons and they're actually zeroed. Rifle gets used hard and beat up? Who cares, both sighting systems are bombproof and the gun is made to just keep working.

my go to is a lmt quadwar 12 piston, rc2 mini with closed tine warcomp, perst 3, REIN 3.0, unity fast micro with 4xt pro sig optic( up to100k hr battery life), b5 furniture for storage and everything is in FDE. Everything i picked down to the platform is strategically planned. Lmt piston ar15s are thee only ar15s i see that can survive sitting 2 hrs in the cold icy snow and run still. FDE is because where i live if your not in pine trees, your in a dead forest where everything is brown. Optic and perst3 should do good in the cold because you know, Swiss and Russia. other than that the RC2 is going to outlive me so theres that.

I can’t have fun stuff (SBR or cans), so my GP would be my LWRCi M6IC DI 16.1” with SOLGW NOX-SC Micro keymo compatible, Atibal Optics 1-10, LWRCi proprietary furniture, Olight PL-Pro Valkyrie (until I can get a pic mount for my Surefire body Atibal light) & tape switch, and Ferro Concepts Slingster sling. I might change it up once I prove my lightweight build. BA 13.9” P&W SOLGW NOX, Midwest Industries lightweight smooth top 15” handguard, 2A lightweight bolt, Aero upper, PSA Turkey Day spécial lower, Elfmann single stage trigger, Magpul CTR, Tier 1 Citizen bungee sling, magnetic sling holder (purchased from War Poet), mixed BUIS, Valhalla Tctical Baldr 18350 w/ODS & Modlite PLH2 head, and either Holosun HE515GR or EOTech XPS-0 & 3x magnifier. I have been considering getting the Acog/RMR combo or a 1x prism that’ll work with a magnifier on my lightweight build just to not have to worry too much about batteries. Cool video subbed

Unfortunately the ammo specs of AKs aren't up to modern military standards compared to ARs. In most cases there's either milsurp ammo from the Balkans or US made ammo but rarely any modern AK ammo on the level of M855. Your best bet for an AK is 5.56 with either a Polish Beryl or PSA AK-101 if you're on a budget. Also the IWI Galil ACE is an option as well but its an AK derivative.

You have to remember MAGIC, is not or has ever been military in any way, shape or fashion. He is still on a journey to learn, an he do's. He always asks for advice from the community to learn more, an has. Even from an old goat like myself but I'm of the mindset of the KISS principle. I think the ACOG's an IR stuff is great, an I could learn to adapt to it, but I'm a retired poor now. Just not in the budget these days. My AR is a basic M 4 with a carry handle an front post, real old school, but it do's have a new fangled lite attached to the handguard, LMAO Thx for the vid PA

The Hybrid 46 is a great first/only suppressor. Jack of all trades and master of none. A lighter suppressor is definitely necessary by the time you add your light and laser. I'll investigate a dedicated 5.56 suppressor after my next one is out of NFA purgatory. I've "heard" that the Saker 556K can isn't very useful on anything shorter than 12.5?? Any truth to this?

It all depends on where you get stationed. Some states allow you to keep them other will not. If they don't I personally have mine in a trust with multiple people in different states incase in need to hand them off.

I would imagine that majority of people in the US are gonna go with an AR/M4 platform. Barrel length depending on where they live but anywhere from 10.3/10.5”-16” with a LPVO or fixed magnification optic with a piggyback or offset 1x dot. Sling, white light and for those with night vision a LAM of some sort. At this point the AR/M4 platform is the best decision. Plenty of spare parts, spare mags, spare ammo will be hanging/laying around
