It's almost like privatising most the GP Surgeries back in 2004 has had some "unforeseen" knock on effect. Almost like these companies are looking for profits and dividends to pay their share holders over providing a viable service

We need to bring back accountability to Doctors and GP's. I have an illness where if I overheat I could die. My tablets stopped working and I went to the GP who changed my tablet. Great except when she didn't put a tablet I take everyday on repeat, her answer was "Should of opened the window". Had I died who'd take responsibility for neglect? Guarantee its not the GP, and yet they want a raise for what? a 3min appoint where you are not allowed to explain what's wrong with you.

Not a single person here are considering the issues GPs face. They aren’t on this astronomical wage some of you are assuming. The incredible levels of pressure and scrutiny are beyond a joke. Half of you likely working from home will never understand the time they have to spend writing notes and communicating with other departments to ensure that YOU don’t sue them for choosing a noble profession in which they save your lives. Most have work to take home, starting work at 8am and not leaving work until 8pm. Good on them for taking industrial action. Most of you will never understand the privileged lives you live due to those who train and work in the public sector.

@@MrGreenmario if you think people believe that GPs are paid £15 an hour you are deluded most GPs retire at 50 they don't need to work till they are seventy something, 10 million pensions are not getting winter payments yet they are welcoming illegals into the country and giving 23% pay rises, wait till the train drivers want a rise once you give to one you have to give to all 5.5% rise for teachers who work just as hard as junior doctors. We need to protest with no confidence in this government before we are all destitute on the streets while illegals are being given houses.

If gp see 37 pts a day it is 6 hours of 10 min patients with no breaks and patients are not 10 minutes and the following referrals letters documentation notes are another 1 to 2 hrs, and then in addition the admin work including your daily repeat prescription requests reviewing bloods and reviewing letters and calling some pt unscheduled for urgent things. So this is clearly another 2.5 hr if one is very efficient. Who justifies such a long day and think GPs burnout is just that tgey are lazy! A full day is not just 8 hours it is 10 to 12 hrs for a GP. Please see the extent of work load on Gps. There is always the otherside of picture. The GPs who work part time, they are working as a locum at other places to cut down some admin work which is generated by salaried work and to be able to breathe. If a GP is doing 6 session in a week and supporting a family, they are just meeting the end. I am not sure where this huge salaries thing coming from.
