Watch Nenad put the Minelab GPX6000 through its paces in a couple of different spots, getting acquainted with the new detector. Will it find any gold? Watch to the end to find out. phasetechnical...
Think I will stick with my 7000. Can't really fault it and I have so much to learn about settings etc still, but finding sub grammers regularly. The 6000 might be good for the Missus though 🤔. She isn't having a lot of success with her 2300.
Update Nenad. Mrs has ordered a 6000 lol. Is it the case that the 6000 works ok on saltpan type ground? Quite a lot of saltpan ground around Cue and Meeka that would be good to check out with the 6000 and 2300.
Для таких самородков подойдёт любой высакочастотный vlf детектор. Зачем таскать такую тяжесть. Покажите насколько глубоко бьёт по большим самородкам Nenad.
Yes, VLF detectors are great on small gold, but they perform poorly in heavy mineralisation, and can't reach the depth of PI machines. The 6000 is like a VLF and PI in one.
Hey! thank you for answering) I am aware that vlf detectors do not cope with strong mineralization and gpx 6000 2 in 1 (vlf + pi). I wanted to say, show better how much better gpx 6000 is from 5000 in detecting deep targets. And can you compare it to 7000? Thanks in advance!
5000 is still probably the most versatile gold machine Minelab have ever made. Lots of timing and coil options, with iron reject and cancel mode etc. For raw performance the 6000 will be much better on very small gold, and also reefy or specimen gold. On larger gold, there are a lot of variables, and I've seen both do better on different types of gold. The 6000 is very easy to use, very light and balanced and the 14" DD does very well around electric fences and powerlines.
The 7000 has a few benefits. 1. More control over the audio. 2. Ground balance options, i.e. you can switch the auto tracking off. 3. Concealed coil cable. 4. More depth on larger nuggets. 5. Can handle highly mineralised and high salt ground with a few settings changes, with the 6000 you may have to swap to the 14" DD coil. 6. Normal ground type setting gives a greater boost in performance compared to Normal on the 6000.
Can't run normal there with monos on the 4500 and 5000. Can't run Normal with the GPZ. In the first spot I have run the GPZ19 in Normal, but still some false signals.
