Thank you, gentlemen. I'll stick with my SDC 2300 with a coiltek 9 by 14 coil. The only advantage I can see in the 6000 is it's lighter. I had a 7000 but spent more than 50% of my time digging hot rocks. The SDC 2300 slides over 95% of them, and you just kicked the 5% out of the way.

Thank you so much for the time spent and sharing this with us! As I suspected before seeing this test, this is a confirmation for me. GPX5000 still the best detector you can get considering that in EU is priced at 3800 euros with 2 coils and around 4400 euros with 3 coils. Not to forget the vaste settings available on this machine and the big number of coils you could mount. The SDC2300 for me is not an option. Better I use a combo of GoldMonster 1000 and GPX5000. Where is very high mineralization GPX5000 with a small coil is close to what SDC can do. Where soils allows a GM1000 to be used , it will find also the smallest flakes. SDC is great if needed a detector with waterproofing and easy to carry in your bag. For what it does the price should be around 2000-2500 euros and not more.

Third or fourth time I’ve watched this video. I’ve got both the 5000 and the 6000. Given the right settings and the right coil the 5000 is almost on par with the 6000 and possibly a little better on deep big gold. The difference is you don’t need all those settings and different coils with the 6000. If your detecting an area with the 5000 and use the wrong settings or the wrong coil for the type of gold your going to less or nothing. I’d like to see this test again but with the 6000 using the 17 inch elliptical mono Minelab coil.

Just wondering what the point of the video is .witch is the best detector of all .and how would the 5000 go with its factory coil
@jenkosgoldadventures
@jenkosgoldadventures 3 года назад
Thanks for the comment Leigh. The point of the video is to test the detectors on the same size gold as it gets deeper in the ground . There are always so many variables when it comes to detecting some we can control and some we can’t. Ground type, mineralisation, soil moisture content, weather for the day, emi, etc, Then there is the detector you’re using, your settings, the coil you have and way you detect and even your mindset, etc. So this video is my findings for the day, it’s a test Derek and I wanted to do for our own curiosity and I thought that I may as well film it. It’s basically entertainment and hopefully some people will something out of it as we did. The best detector is the one you can afford and the one you feel most confident using. As for the 5000 coil i think Minelab make great coils but I think Nugget finder coils are better. I you would like to subscribe please do so as I have got some videos in mind that should be come in the near future. Thanks again I hope you’re getting a few pieces yourself 👍

Thanks for the comment Paul. No I don’t believe you’re wasting your money on a SDC I have owned one and found it to be a very capable machine. The machines work differently and this can vary in different conditions. So the best machine comes down to your budget and the ground you’re intended to detect. If you’re chasing smaller gold close to the surface a sdc is a awesome machine and will out perform many machines on the market.

@@jenkosgoldadventures Sooo hard to decide...All i know is that Heathcote has been smashed for a long time, but I really do appreciate your response. Would be be happy to find find small stuff, but if someone got a big bit under the small I'd spew......flip a coin. Just another Question, (if yo don't mind)......Are we allowed to search mullock piles? Are you Victorian? (yeah I know that's 2 questions)?

@@paulconnell2385 for me if I had to have one detector I would choose the GPX 6000 without a doubt, it’s awesome on small gold and on my last trip I was happy to get some deeper bigger nuggets as well. However if I couldn’t afford a GPX 6000 I would happily buy another SDC. They are also one of the best machines over mullock heaps and there is far more smaller then bigger gold. A tip with mullock heaps is once you have been over them very carefully you can rake off a couple of inches and try again this method has worked well for me in the past. Also you do have the option of changing coils on the sdc to the coiltech range to increase depth however I think this can void your warranty so check that first. If the machine is out of warranty period (over 3 years old) then that’s no problem. Good luck mate. I’m definitely no expert however I’m happy to help where I can.

Gpx 5000 со evo катушкой, а 6000 со штатной катушкой. Было бы тест честным если оба использовали штатные катушки или оба evo катушками
