I love the long slider it has. And it's easy to operate where I want to stop on the WAV. Its sound is very smooth and the particle taste is very musical.

how do you feel about your combination 5 months later? i have an empress reverb and thinking of gr-1 to add to my setup.

Thank you for the comment! This track has D tonal center. And in the first piano layer, you can hear D, A, and higher D notes without any 3rd. After that, it goes from G to F#(major 3rd of D). Then 2nd pad layer started with F(minor 3rd of D), and it rises up to F# when the piano plays F#. The third layer is just the D drone. And the fourth layer sounds with GR-1's grain plays major 7th sometimes. It passes vaguely over the sound of the minor 3rd. That's not clear, but it also sounds melodic minor-ish. Anyway, this track is drifting between D major and D minor. And the great big sky fills and glues these four tracks. I love it! BTW, I made these four samples on another DAW, then I imported them to GR-1. I hope this answers your question. Thanks!

@@globularcarving Wow! Thanks so much for breaking it down in such detail. For each layer, were they single notes only (or some chords) and are all of them piano samples or other instruments as well? Playing with tonal centres (and introducing a little ambiguity) certainly seems to be a great way to explore granular synthesis in a mostly harmonious fashion.
