very natural sound of the bass, which means the amp does a great job. precise and warm bass, clear mids and silky highs. i think my next combo will be a gr. would be nice to have a comparison vs. eich and realbass combos.
The advice considering the connection of a second cab with a load of 4 ohm is incorrect here! The load from the internal speaker is already 4 ohm.The ICE700AS1 power module inside delivers already his 700watts to the combo. The module can deliver to 2,67 ohm so when you want to connect a second cabinet it has to be 8 ohm.
The information was given based on the details supplied at the time. This page: www.grbass.com/combos/cube-800/ Clearly says 8 ohms. (I've a screen print made today) Now if that is indeed a typo then I thank you for your update. I do see that the cabinets in the GR Bass range (non-combo) do support 4 Ohms. The manual attached to the Cube 800 page above does not mention the combo selection, only the 'one' heads. I own the combo for about three weeks now. It has a very neutral sound. I own also a Vanderkley stack and have had the Glockenklang stuff. The sound is exact between these two brands. The power sound of VDK and the clearness of the Glockenklang; loud enough as a standalone for the most gigs. Planning to order the external 8 ohm cube 112 cab, and i am very curious who it sounds together with the 4 ohm speaker in the combo. The B&O modules are great stuff and can handle this. Strange that they equipped the combo with a 4 ohm Sica driver instead of a 8 ohm, but they will have a reason for it. The new GR212slim in 8 ohm would also be a great option for more pressure to complete it as a powerstack.
All, why all of you say that it sound great? I would rather ask where is the mic in front of the cab?! If the signal is going from DI out the it is not the sound of the combo just the guitar. So I can say that my guitar also sounds perfect :D
A bit more light on the subject would have been good ,also terms like ,kind of , & maybe do not belong in a review when talking about attributes of the Combo .Why no backing tracks ? it give more of an idea of Band performance .The figure the reviewer choose to repeatedly play was seemingly lacking in dynamics .G'luck
Do we want a good bass amplifier or do we want a fancy LED show! Another over priced Class D amplifier!This amplifier company is a Joke and way over priced! All though one of my favorites basses to play besides my NYC Sadowsky 5!
This amplifier company is a joke? Are you kidding? Do you work for some competitor company? My teacher Roberto De Rosa is one of the endorser (you can see him in Namm 2023 video and in other GR videos on You Tube). Let me say that you are free to prefer other products but you CAN'T say thet the GR is a joke. It's really very incorrect. They work a lot on technology, but the sound fidelity is the main goal of this company. So, try something to have a better idea of this products. Have a nice time and music.
