WOW!! I've viewed thousands of hours of RU-vid DIY automotive videos. Your videos are stellar. Great organization, states exactly what to do in detail, and doing so without superfluous verbiage. Perfect camera exposure of the work area with excellent image quality. Keep up the excellent work. You have a bright future as a RU-vid presenter.

Just a suggestion use a 6 point wrench and sockets on torqued nuts less likely to strip or roll the points. Great video!

Tein seems to have lost some of its popularity in USA. I’m guessing it happened when they started manufacturing their low end kits in places other than Japan. I have a new Z and am in the market for some coilovers. I’m curious what you would say when comparing High end tein to Aragosta or Ohlins? HKS? Thanks !
@39gjapan
@39gjapan 2 дня назад
I've tried driving one of my friend's ohlins. One of the best drives. I haven't tried other high-end coilovers so I can't give you comparison insights.

Nice clean work. I would be better to torque the nuts when the car is on the ground. The bushings would have longer life.

Sup guys. Where do i find the foot pound torque because i can’t understand the measurement you using in this video, Im a newbie using torque wrench. Thanks
@39gjapan
@39gjapan 10 месяцев назад
Hi, torque specs are usually written on coilovers manual. But you can also use a converter online N.m to lbf
@rohandias1244
@rohandias1244 15 дней назад
grateful if you could explain this comment further (for a beginner) - which are the nuts that should be torqued once the car is on the ground?
@Mellyfilm
@Mellyfilm 15 дней назад
@@rohandias1244 Nuts or bolts that fasten a bushing in a suspension. If you tighten them with the wheels in the air, when the car will go to the ground, the bushing would have a preload on them. If you torque them when the car is on the ground, the bushing would be in the right position for driving, without any preload, so less stress on them.

What’s the difference between theses and bc? Awesome video by the way!
@39gjapan
@39gjapan Год назад
Hi, thanks for the positive feedback! For your question tho, you have to more specific on which model of BC Racing your talking about. TEIN also has a wide range of Coilovers. So it&s kind of hard to tell which is better. TEIN is has been in the coilover industry for so long, but that doesn't mean it's better than BC Racing. If your spending the same amount, I found this comparison video on TEIN Mono Sport vs. BC ER Coilovers from "Drive Tune Media" ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-qsbdNy8XWkM.html

might I suggest a HF breaker bar and 1 wheel socket to remove the lug nuts easier (less dangerous than the 4-way wrench) __ I know Tein is supposed to be a good brand for suspension, but I never hear great things about their stuff. Is their top tier race stuff good and their street stuff meh. Or is it ppl not knowing the right Tein product for their car or misunderstanding what the capabilities/limitations of the Tein product they installed/chose? I personally see them as bottom tier suspension bits...am I wrong?
@39gjapan
@39gjapan 6 месяцев назад
Yeah, I see a lot of guys get the bottom tier street coils and use them on track. they cheap out and complain. TEIN has been out there for so long, they got the right one for your preference. 👍

@@39gjapan the bottom ring so you can lower it more
@39gjapan
@39gjapan 5 месяцев назад
You need to use something to counter the counter-clockwise turn of the lower mount lock (bottom ring). So use a wrench or any bar to make sure the lower mount stays and not turn together with the bottom ring.

What spring rate are you running for this setup. How the feeling on the street driving. Its to hard or just good

@flixzyrl3075 5 месяцев назад
did you need anything other than just the coilovers?
@39gjapan
@39gjapan 5 месяцев назад
For the street it can be ggod with just the coils. But I suggest you replace sabilizer links (swaybar link) as well when you drop the car. Some brands comes with the coils, but mostly don't. I got myself front and rear coz I track the car.

And last question sir i just got my gr86 last 2 month but my disc brake looks rusty. Do you have any idea what to do?
@39gjapan
@39gjapan Год назад
It’s only surface rust. It will be cleared after a drive. Brake rotor rust can be worse depending on the climate. I still can’t find a way to prevent it from rusting.

@39gjapan
@39gjapan Год назад
Hi, this is the “Mono Racing Damper SpecR”.. In short.. Flex z and Street are both Twin tube, while this one is a Single/Mono tube. Twin tube are designed to be comfortable on a daily drive. Mono tube ones are usually designed for the track.

Hey! Thanks for all the great content on the GR86. I am curious to know what the 86 community in Japan thinks about the oil starvation issue? Is it a big concern there? Are you noticing many failures on track? 900BRZ's overview / analysis of the issue (note the KB baffle did not address the issue) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-4Jk5WTWoqt4.html Thanks!
