Hey dude, going to to the oiling issue, i think it was ansix auto came out with a mount to add an accusump to the brace inside the engine which could help with keeping oil pressure higher on the track. Dont know if you were interested in it but it seems like a pretty solid fix for it.
It would be interesting to have pressure sensors at each opening (you would also probably need anemometers under each side to measure air flow difference). Reason is that high velocity air moving over the passenger side vent will create more of a venturi effect (and thus lower pressure due to velocity) than on the driver's side due to slowing the velocity over that side with the Gurney flap. On the other hand, the "static" pressure over the driver's side should be reduced due to the flap (as you intended). Although the flap will add a bit of overall drag to the car, I doubt you'll notice any real difference overall. Mr. Bernoulli would be proud of your experiments!
Yes, I agree, especially without anything to measure the pressures. I’ve talked to a few guys that are boosted and they say that adding the gurney flap helped them with cooling. 🤷🏻♂️
nice! you did the test! glad it is working, feels kinda like Carol Shelby era customisation, did you consider order some carbon parts that will definitely make it a lot lighter than aluminum, looks better too.
Nice video! Did you see someone measured oil pressure of the stock oil heat exchanger (the bit under the filter) and found a decent pressure drop? They removed it and saw 10-15 psi increase in corners? On the hood vent, any reason to not put it further back to increase air flow through out the engine compartment?
