Exquisite! Thrills the ear and touches the heart! The organ photo appears to me to be of the Schudi organ at St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Dallas where I was privileged and delighted to hear Marie Claire Alain in concert some years ago when I was in graduate school in Dallas. 😃🎼🎵🎹
Oh that's interesting that you recognize that organ picture! I am just inserting a copyright free photo to aid in the dramatic effect of my presentation. This organ is a composite organ I created from samples of Alessandria, Este and Reuter which would be hard to have a picture of! Tell me, are you a musician as well? @@GrandPraise Wonderful! As to Mme Alain, you do have a treat in store! If you know the work of such greats as Diane Bish, Alain was her principal teacher. Warner Bros. once even did a documentary on Alain. Mme Alain knew the entire Bach corpus from memory and recorded it in its entirety over the course of her long and distinguished career. One left her concerts feeling at once exhilarated and drained simply being swept up in the music! As to myself, I, as you, am a bivocational organist. I did study organ some at school but never have had the time to develop my skill to the level I'd like it to be. I do play regularly for church and very much enjoy providing a ministry in that way. P. S. The great Alain also held a master class at our college on the Schlicker 3m tracker we had there! I was afraid to go for fear she would call upon me to play but, as with all truly great teachers, she respected the effort and courage of the students and was most gracious and kind.
