Can you imagine what it was like on the set of Boomerang? Just imagine Grace Jones and Eartha Kitt in the same room!!!! Oh, and let's not forget Geofrey Holder.
I would love to have met her I usually prefer meatier women but she is so strong so fierce so sensuous so sinewy good grief the sexual energy that encircles you invades you you already know there's no point in thinking that she won't attack you well I like that in a woman and this is the got it in spades
..yes....the suit she is wearing is by her friend....GIORGIO ARMANI...he did all of her mannish suits back then...and of course the suit on the cover of her album...NIGHTCLUBBING.....
@@markpeter4304 There’s way much more to performance art identities than what may seem to you as phoniness. Perhaps you’re judging this great artist by your own standards.
I think that she looks beautiful because no one else really looks like her. She is a fashion-icon anyways because of her unique style. And I also love her music. She is very underrated in my opinion and she should be a lot more famous than she is. Apparently good music don´t always sell that well. But she is a legend in my book. And she will be a legend forever. :)
@@literallynobodyyoutubecomm4449 Be proud in the skin you are in! Embrace it girl... No matter what you're beautiful! Remember true beauty emanates from the inside out! No one is truly lacking no matter the color spectrum. Beauty comes in all shapes and sizes and colors! I had to learn that a long time ago and am still learning it now!
@@literallynobodyyoutubecomm4449 Stop caping for dark skinned folks talking about you wanna be one of us. Be proud of who you are. You can admire but keep all the "wishing to be like us" stuff out of it. It's patronizing, annoying, and comes off more like you're trying to tell us what you think we want to hear. Typically people only seek to flatter and appease groups they view as lesser than or victims. If that's not you, then stop behaving in this fashion.
Grace Jones is an inspiration. She had a rough childhood as had many a star; but she persevered and triumphed! God Bless you Grace; please know that you are LOVED by generations of fans🙏❤❤❤
Grace is an amazing artist. So talented and creavtive. Way ahead of her time. So unique and captivating. That tune has a good ass beat and meaning behind the lyrics
wow. im mind blown, stunned. she is a universe. amazing just oozing with creativity, talent, charm, intellect n beauty. what a unique human. so much respect for her. thank Goddess Grace Jones for everything u give us.
I adore Grace so much. I grew up on MTV 80s so seeing today's Gen. is so frustrating. I told my 15 yo, Im sure Lady GaGa shocked the hell out of them. But, it really didn't even bother me. My Gen and the Gen beside us. Were so used to this. XOXO Grace. You're a rare beautiful woman.
Her brother ended up being a minister (Noel Jones). And she was in a relationship with Dolph Lundgren (Drago in Rocky IV). Her, Jerry Hall (former model and Mick Jagger's ex-wife), and two other models operated a very successful modeling agency in Europe. She's was so funny, darling and brought the confidence in the movie Boomerang (Eddie Murphy/Halle Berry/Robin Givens). But this is the first time I've seen her in an interview, or seen her perform, and I'm just blown away. I wish I'd had her on my radar years ago.
Grace is bilingual she can change her accent to most any language/culture she blends in very well you'd think she's from there, London, France, Italy, USA, other than her bona-fide land Jamaica 🇯🇲 A woman way ahead of time.
Seeing these interviews brings it all home for me. I'm a child of the 80's and i remember seeing this amazing goddess of a woman on t.v. briefly (I too grew up a little strict like her) I always saw her as this larger than life other worldly character whom was so intensely beautiful people just really never got her in a politically conservative america and england of the 1980's. I also as a fair skinned mixed race woman always saw her skin and presence that of a dark melonin rich deity like
The lyrics to this song has a definite message!!! I hope all of the Empresses who have not recognized their power yet heard and are empowered by this. I truly am inspired and reminded. Thank you. Your Majesty Grace Jones🙏🏽💪🏽❤️
Don Lane was another life, to have a Grace Jones and let her be herself & beautifully so. Never seen this interview, this would have been on when my parents sent us all to bed. Amazing voice, amazing personality didn’t discover her until the 80’s.
He was one of the better interviewers all the others just concentrated on how " strange" she was. He let her just go and I think he was genuinely interested. He's fun! I've seen him do other interviews , found them here on you tube.
Why is everyone saying that she was ahead of her time. Maybe entire 80's were ahead of this time. Progress isn't going in forward direction, as far as I can see.
