Yes I have grown to appreciate Elvis even more since I married Mindy and my first time to Graceland was so cool. I would recommend it if you ever get the chance.
We went last summer. It was great. I also, thought that, the house was a little smaller than I thought it would be. But, still great to see. My son was 14 , he really enjoyed it, more than I thought he would. Then we went to Nashville, and looked at some of the plantation, there. It was a wonderful vacation. Hope, to go to Memphis, again soon.
If you ever get the chance to go to gracelands grab it with both hands, We visited in 2000,id love to go again, I'm disabled now, I don't know if I could make the journey, I was so happy to be there, I had to keep nipping myself, to make sure I wasn't dreaming, yes it's something I've got to do soon, good luck hope you make it some day x
I have loved Elvis since 1956 when I went to a show (small then) and got a hug!!! I want to thank you so much for how respectful you were to the gravesite. I’ve been there and it’s disgusting how some people treat it like Disneyland or something, yelling, making crude comments and laughing. I love to go to the graves in early morning when it’s free and almost no people. Last 2 times I was completely alone, wonderful peaceful time.
Never been to Graceland but I seen Elvis TWICE in concert. The first time was a present my parents got me for getting all A's in Grade 8 . . . a MusicMan ticket to hop on a bus and travel from London, Ontario to Buffalo in 1975. It was my first concert experience ever and I got to see the King . . at 13 years of age. Couldn't have been more blown away by anything else. The second time I took my Mom to see him at the Detroit Olympia . . 5 months before he died. I was SOOOO glad I talked Mom into going to that concert and not one "later on" with me. Glad everyone is enjoying Graceland. Great video ! !
Thank you, from France, for this sharing. I think Elvis would be proud to be kept his memory by all of his fans. But I think he would be sorry to see his dear Graceland house like this.
I lived in Bartlett, Tennessee in the 70's. As a kid we made many trips by Graceland. You always knew Elvis was at home with the extra security guards. My nextdoor neighbor went to high school with Elvis and I loved looking at his old high school yearbooks.🤗
Parabéns pra vcs que realizam o sonho de conhecer Graceland. Sou muito fã do Elvis mas ir aí pra mim pelo menos por enquanto é impossivel☹️☹️ e viva Elvis💕💕
I'm from the UK, my wife and I went to Graceland about 12 years ago. Loved it...and would love to go back again. Your video has brought back great memories, thank you! I'm even more determined to get back there now!
Elvis is the best of history rock an pop. Come Elvis nessuno mai. The King oh che voce divina! Oh che carisma e che presenza scenica! Beati quelli che videro i suoi mitici unici concerti. Elvis the best King forever❤💙❤💙❤💙❤💙💙❤❤❤❤💙💙💙💙
It's a great experience indeed. Compared to modern day mansions, the size of Graceland dwarfs. Especially when your looking at it from Vernon's office. But the front always looks majestic. I really liked the wall that they constructed at the family grave area. The stained glass windows look great. Good stuff guys!
Yes it does look so beautiful from the front and looks bigger from there too. I did enjoy the beautiful stained glass windows and how peaceful that area was. Thanks so much.
Hey Chris and Mindy, when I was a lil girl My Uncle Danny and Aunt Louise took me to Graceland, thats all I talked bout for the longest time, I was amazed at all of it. As Mindy said about the new stuff is new, I would love to go back and take my husband and daughter. My Aunt Louise was the biggest Elvis fan ever, she had tickets to see him, but sadly he passed away before she got to see him. She and my Uncle Danny helped raise me, when they passed away, they left me everything they owned. She has a "Elvis" bedroom, I've been sleeping in this room for about the 2 past years, every day when I wake up, the first thing I see is The King Elvis :) Thanks for taking us along, I enjoyed every bit of it Love y'all too sorry for writing a book lol
Thanks so much Tena, I really enjoy the long comment. That is so cool that you get to live in an Elvis bedroom. I am sorry she never got to see him. I am sure Mindy would tell you it is good to go back and see all the new stuff. Thanks.
4:28 is the lounge area of the Racquetball court. Elvis was there with friends playing Racquetball on the early morning of Aug 16, 1977. After the game, Elvis walked over to that lounge area and sat down at the piano. He played and sang "Blue Eyes Crying in the Rain and "Unchained Melody" Then went back up to the house were he died later that same day. This place at 4:28 was the last place Elvis performed and on the day he died!
This was supper awesome. Glad to see that stuff hasn’t changed over the years. My great uncle probated Elvis will when he died. And my mom and grandma are from Memphis Tennessee
GOING TO GRACELAND IN THE LATE 70's WAS THE BEST TRIP EVER, REALLY MISSED SEEING ELVIS, MY HEART STILL ACHES FOR HIM, AND ELVIS WE MISS YOU BUT RESPECT WHY YOU LEFT US, HOPE YOU ARE HAPPY AND WELL. GOD BLESS YOU WHEVER YOU ARE. 😏❤
The queen says.....mere servants quarters.😕😕 Love the peacock stained glass.👍👍 Thanks for the tour around. I was at band practice, in high school the day the world found out Elvis had died. One of my class mates was hysterical, and Elvis music was a little older for us, but I guess he was timeless.👏👏👏🐾🐾🐺
I grew up in Memphis until around age 10. Then, moved to a tiny town called Dover, TN. (Culture shock)- but anyway, it was in Dover (in 6th grade) that I watched a couple Elvis documentaries one day and was immediately drawn in and became a huge Elvis fan! Didn't visit Graceland until I was an adult though and got the privilege of visiting on a couple of occasions. And, yes, as others gave said, a few things HAVE changed for sure, since I was there. Thank you so much for sharing!
Marie thank you so much for checking it out and the kind comment. That is funny you grew up in Memphis, but didnt appreciate Elvis and Graceland until you have moved away. I hope it doesnt change too much going forward. Have a great day.
Oh how I love me some Elvis! ♥️ I went there when I was 25 , with my mama. We spent 6 hrs. There. It has changed a lot. The plane and cars were across the street with a little 50s diner. Looks way bigger now!! Looks amazing!!! We will have to plan a trip there, soon!!
You should try to get there again and see what all has changed. It was my first time so Im not sure what was different. Thanks for letting me know they moved the cars and planes. Thanks so much Nickie.
What you said about it being smaller is true. I was there, and I felt that there are many houses in my own neighborhood that are about the same size. Also, there were parts of the house that were worn looking and didn't look like they fit in with a person of wealth. Tells me that Elvis was a down to earth kind of guy. I loved the house even more because it looked like it had been really "lived in" in many parts.
Hi Chris and Mindy! I have never been to Graceland either and want to thank both of your for sharing this video for all us Elvis fans out here. I enjoyed this video so much and I really appreciate it! You both take care, stay safe and God Bless🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻!
It's amazing how they kept those rooms looking just like somebody just turned a light out and walked out in the mid 70s. I remember when rooms look like that.
I remember how my house looked then when I was young and it does look a lot like a fancier version of that. It is amazing they kept it so unchanging for all these years. Thanks for the fun feedback.
Just like a person, stepped back into the 70's. I grew up in the 70's, so I remembered a lot of this stuff, but like you said, not as fancy as Elvis, stuff.
My mom was a huge Elvis fan and this was one of our family vacations, many, many years ago. It's funny how quick them memories popped back after watching your video. We also visited the dinner that made Elvis his peanut butter and banana sandwiches and got to sit in his booth. Priscilla and Lisa Marie was also living there when we went and the upstairs of the house and certain areas were blocked off and had signs "for family only". When was outside getting ready to leave, a Limo pulled up and Priscilla and Lisa Marie came out the front door and waived to the crowd before getting into the limo and leaving. It was cool experience. Thanks for bringing it back to me.
I always love when old memories pop up, especially happy ones. That is so awesome that you got to see Priscilla and Lisa Marie. Did you get a good picture of them? Thanks for checking out the video.
@@ChrisAboutTshirts It was so long ago, I will ask mom if she has any pictures of it, I was so little I wasn't even sure who they was and why everyone was getting so excited at the time. lol. I would love to go back someday and check it out, form your pictures though, it doesn't seem to have changed much from what I remember.
Yes I will have to wear mine sometime soon, since Mindy got to wear hers on a live stream. Do you think you may go back and check it out anytime soon? Thanks for checking it out.
I’ve enjoyed Graceland. I sort of liked Elvis, and there are a couple of movies of his that I loved; Blue Hawaii, Follow That Dream, King Creole, and It happened at the World’s Fair. I know that I probably won’t see Graceland, but what you showed was great. 🙂😉
This was great. I love Graceland and have been lucky enough to have 3 trips there. stayed at the Heartbreak Hotel each time! My last visit was a number of years ago and the visitor ticket area/hotel has really changed hence the hike in admission prices! Great to see it all again. Cheers x
I did not know there was a Heartbreak hotel, that sounds like fun. Yes it does seem like it is pretty expensive now, but a lot of fun. Glad you got to go 3 times, maybe one day you will get a 4th. Thanks for always being so kind and chatty. Have a good day.
Chris, you looked exactly like Elvis in the final pose! I love the billiards room👍 Good job on the filming. Hope Mindy had a good flight🤔 Excellent video. Mindy deserves the Elvis Ultimate VIP tour...she needs the massage!! (Good job on the respectful and solemn music in the garden)
Thanks Tony, you did suggest I go there one day and see the giant couch. Yes Mindy did have a good flight and do you think she needs the massage because she is married to me? Thanks I tried really hard to make the garden music work right.
@@ChrisAboutTshirts The couch is 15 feet long... The Carpetbagger, you, Will and I could fit on that couch!! I LOVE the poolroom. Yes, she needs one because she works so hard doing all your "to do" list, keeping you in line, and, in general, keeping you safe and happy!! You two are a very special couple ♥️
Hi Chris, my son and I were there at Graceland on March 17 and 18 just before everything shut down It was so quiet where there almost all by ourselves Had a great time thanks for posting 😊
Wow😯 great filming Chris, I can't believe how good your videoing is lately. I've always wanted to go to Graceland. It's definitely on my bucket list. This is your friend Mable Owens. Looks like you & Mindy had a great time. I so enjoyed this video. Thank you Chris. 👍
That compliment means the world to me. Thank you so much. I hope you get to Graceland one day, it is a lot of fun. We did have a good time. Thanks for always being such a kind person.
I agree with you that the house isn't as big as you thought, but still very cool being there. Did you pick up on the smell as you walk in the front enterance, I thought it smelt old, which it is of course, but it just had a smell like it had been closed up for a long time to me. What about all the gold records/ awards, incredible. I hope to return again someday, and go to Beale street again too, and Sun studio
Yes I was surprised for sure at the size when I got there. And yes it does smell kinda old, for me especially around the "Jungle" room. It was incredible seeing all his much deserved awards. I especially enjoyed the jumpsuits. Hope you get back soon. Thanks so much for checking out the video. Have a good day.
nothing greater than going threw those gates for the first time or many many many times two years back to back with about seven to ten days and both times i spent days going threw graceland seeing something new each time and going at my own pace as well. the smell and vibe i miss very dearly. Great house best in the world to me. also when i said that about entering his gates and the front door i forgot to mention is better than seeing the ocean at Santa Monica aka Venice Beach and clear water florida. cali is better ocean to me but better than that is the gates and front door to eps house.
Hey Chris and Mindy I have never been to Graceland this was a good vlog I thought his house would have been so much bigger but it was beautiful. Chris at the end was you attempting to be an Elvis impersonator 😆 I enjoyed this thanks for sharing your trip with us my friends 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Dont you think I did a good job impersonating Elvis lol? Thanks so much, I really appreciate all the kind words you always have. Hope you have a good restful day.
Thanks so much for checking it out. I do wish I could have filmed it better and shown more of an in person type of video. Always love seeing you in the live chats. Have a good day.
When I move into Graceland, I think Elvis and I will change the jungle room carpet to real grass so our many dogs can just go downstairs to poo! Let Him know that His Grace is on her way there;) 5 is the number for Grace!
Elvis would be ashamed that it still looks like 1977. He was all about the newest and greatest next thing. He would have it outfitted with the latest and greatest. Elvis would have had an army of drones flying over the Skys of Memphis. But that home must stay as it was when Elvis lived there. As this is what makes it what it is. Had Elvis lived these days, he would have had a movie theater inside his home. And the Memphian would not have its claim to fame that Elvis rented it out a lot of nights. Times change, but Elvis remains the same.
Thank you for telling me about your vlog of Graceland tonight on Will and Dawn live. My sister and I are planning a trip in Oct. I am 74 and have walking limits so I was wondering what I am getting into
I love Elvis and I cant wait to visit Graceland Im surprised they don't let film inside anymore. Mindy is pretty elegant and very sweet smiling and when she walked out from the airplane saying missing you guys :) Very nice video ! Did you guys ate the elvis fav sandwich ? Does Graceland have Elvis impostor like Las Vegas to take pictures ?
No cabe duda, logro todo lo que se propuso, sin menospreciar a todos los grandes roncanroleros de ese tiempo, de ninguno se ve haya logrado lo que Elvis, indiscutiblemente el rey del rock and roll
Chris & Mindy, can you tell us a little about the safety of being at Graceland? I have read so many comments (trip advisor etc.) talking about how dangerous that area is for crime. Did you feel unsafe? was there security?
I want to go to Graceland this year. How long do you get to tour the grounds of Graceland? i dont understand why no video, but you can take pics.if you are fans, check out youtube channels called spaguy, weekly spaguy, ashley drew, graceland, globetrotting with trey, jordan the lion.
I hope you get to go to go there this year. We were there in the house for about an hour, but they dont give you a time limit. I will check those channels out thanks.
