Yes, if your machine goes straight it works great for single row of spaces with no other reference points around it. Line up the back of both wheels on the line then drive straight in
I don't like to bend over when laying out. I only do layout with dot stick and can and never bend over. If I had this process down well, I'd attempt it, but you must have a line driver or you're pushing a machine which defeats the purpose of using less energy(auto layout). Plus I don't like leaving a chalked backline(cut offs). I don't like customers seeing any chalk lines or layout marks at all.
Thanks for watching, yes I am using a linedriver. Whats the difference if there is a chalkline for a day, I can paint faster and more accurate with a chalk line as a start than just a dot. Maybe you are using shingles as your start mark
