Hi jessica, yes for sure it does work with all sleeve. Last week I even grade a one piece body suit (catsuit), using the pants combine with the bodice and it work amazing I will do it on a video very soon

Hello Francois, When grading pants, it is possible that your dart move towards the side seam, if your fix point is the center (front or back) at the notch area. It's a visual effect that we call the nest point. If I overlap all my sizes at this point, the dart will be moving. I use the grading technique where my grain line is fix, so my grain line remain in the center of the leg on all the size. Diane

Of course they could be used with any kind of pattern, home made or commercial, also with seam allowances or without. And yes you could customize your grading, for exemple one size up for the top part of the bodice and 2 size up for the waist and/or the hip.

these tools are made to use as it is for adult, BUT since a was a kids designer for many years, I know that the only difference is that KIDS grow, so if I had to grade kids cloths for example pants, I would use my tools and pick the small grading ( the 4 inside colours), AND add extra measurement for the length ( the length of kids pants change 1 inches(2.5cm) to 1 1/4 (3.1 cm) depending on the size range)

Hi Caroline, not yet, but I wish I could do it for 2018. for now, since the horizontal grading for kids is about 1" or 2.5 cm per size I'm using the same tools for kids and add the vertical grading by hand since this is the easy part, for exemple ( + or - 1" or 2.5cm for pants),

Hi Caramelo, On le legend, you have 2 lines the top one is telling you the grading from the 0 point and the 2nd one is telling you from size to size, so if you add the 2nd line number you get the 1st line. I put both because yes you could use the 0 on any size pattern, but you don't have to. For example, if your pattern is a large, you would use the (gray) as your 0, and you want to grade an xlarge you would point the (kaki) Now these ruler are made for adult grading, but I also use them for kids grading, the only thing to fix is the length since they grow and adult dont. And I would use the small grading for exemple; basic blue and a size bigger red or 2 size bigger black. For kids pants grading, you should add to the length 2.5 cm or 1 inch per size. Hi Diane, thank you for your quick reply. I see now that the dots inside the drawing are closer together, so now it makes sense to me to start inside for a child's grading. My only confusion now is that I don't understand the numbers on the legend. It's clear to me how to increase or decrease sizes, but what do the numbers mean? It's obvious to me that the minuses and the pluses mean that I'd be adding or taking away in size, but do these numbers refer to millimeters? For example, if gray is large, then light blue would be medium and black would be small, right? So, if I am grading from black to gray, does it mean I am adding 8 mm to each side of the pattern?

Hello Caramelo, On the legend, it is centimetre, so from black to gray, your garment is going to be 8 cm bigger all around, or 2 cm per pattern piece, since usually a pattern piece is 1/4 of a garment. If you have more questions do not hesitate Diane
