I watched your last grad school interview tips video before I had my interview at my top choice school. It was the most helpful video I watched concerning the topic. I’m starting a Professional Counseling MS program in August; thank you so much for your help! Thank you for sharing your experiences and thoughts with us, every video is greatly appreciated. Wishing you all the best in your career and personal life!
Thank you so much for this feedback. It made my day, honestly. I try to do my best to share what I learn to make it easier for my fellow future counseling students/ professionals. Congrats on starting your program. That is amazing. Love to hear this xo
Hey Klaudia! Super Helpful video I will be sharing with my students. I had a B.A. in Psychology from FAU, but I had a stats class there... maybe this is different in other places, but most of the schools I researched during that time on the East Coast had a stats class. Either way, I think the math portion really depends on each person and how well they do with that. Besides that, it seems like most of our questions for our program interviews were about the same... Thanks for awesome info for students!
That’s good insight. I just know there were some people I talked to and told me they never took stats or anything math related ? I remember thinking how they got into the program than ? Again I think your right if the person can do the math and understand what is being asked of them they can make it though with a little research.
Hahaha! I totally used a psychologist example. I said I was a little geeky and was reading a book by John Bolby about attachment theory 🤣 Maybe that’s what got me in. 🤣 Good video!
This makes me worry. I am completing my BA in psych, however, I have completed 3 stats and research courses and have been interning at a lab for a year now. I’m hoping they pick up on that on my transcripts 😳😭
That is amazing. I only used the example of stats because there were some people that I know did not have those classes in undergrad with a BA degree. Your going to do great that’s a lot of work your putting in
Alright, now I need to ask if you have mental space and capacity to be a mentor. I'm a few years behind you in terms of degree, but you talk and explain things in a way I wished my professors and associates explained ... well everything. Talk about "meeting the client where they're at". I'm going to send you a message in IG
Hello friend, thank you for the supportive comments. Where are you at in your journey right now? I also had a hard time finding content about counseling that helped me in my early research. I decided to share my views in hopes of it helping someone one day.
