We went to Hampton University to work with their physical therapy students! We helped teach them wheelchair transfers, sliding board transfers, and bed mobility for a quadriplegic. We found this experience very rewarding and think it is important for therapy students to have hands on experience!

About Roll With Cole & Charisma:
Hey everyone! We’re Cole & Charisma. Since the start of our relationship we've gotten a lot of questions about how we make things work as not only an interracial couple, but an interabled one as well. There are certainly differences, and despite them we have a great time, all the time! On this channel, you’ll find travel vlogs, Q&As, couple challenges, how-to/educational videos and more. We started this channel to bring people into our lives so we can answer some questions about how we navigate the world. We’ll show you behind-the-scenes stuff people typically don't see, and hopefully raise awareness surrounding accessibility and dating in a wheelchair. You'll quickly see in our episodes that we're all about positivity, inclusion, and keeping a great attitude no matter your circumstances, so if that's what you're into, you're in the right place!

Cole and Charisma, thank you for offering your time to teach these new P.T. students the actual hands on experience. As a retired Firefighter/EMT, I remember the first time I did CPR vs how we were taught in the classroom environment, it was so much different. The patients arms and legs moving around with no control, the dead weight etc. Hands on skills in a case such as yours is by far the BEST Way for those students to learn. Both of you are certainly filling your life's calling. I'm sure throughout your youtube series, you have no doubt helped thousands of people along the way. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOU DO.

Thank you for this vlog. Due to the fact that I’ve been a caretaker to my mother who was no longer able to walk as her Alzheimer’s progressed, I feel this is something that caretakers can use in general. Many times when family members are caretakers, we don’t know proper ways to transfer and other things that will help our loved ones and ourselves. Thank you again and yes I know that this would be positive for on hand demonstrations, if you will, for students to get on hand knowledge prior to internships.

I loved going to PT classes so they could get hands on experience.. I am a paraplegic T8 level.I been paralyzed for 25 years.. but in the first 15 years or so I have been doing classes, (now I am to old and the younger ones are doing them lol) . Been to long classes where they had to access me and figure out my level and all, get my rainge ratio and all. see me do floor transfers and the crazy stuff we have to do in order to get in and out of the chair and dressing and so forth. I hope you get to do this more, as it is so important for the PT students to see first and get to experience it with someone who really is paralyzed. I enjoyed it and love to teach and show them an easier way of doing things that work for me and that maybe they can use it with their patients. It is so awesome to look back and than see your student as a real PT working at the hospital and they remember you and all.. Cole you will get more chances trust me, you have this positive attitude and willing to show and teach and help others. you are an inspiration to so many.

They helped me so much with learning about my eye condition, its literally changed my life. There were people who had strokes, in wheel chairs with different abilities and one quad. The young man was very tall and nice to his groups. Love this. I helped out my groups as time went on, my sister graduated in the second class at our collage.

What a great learning experience for those students! As an OT, I know that more experiences like this in class versus actual practicums and fieldwork experiences only would have been nice. It's easier to learn when not under such scrutiny, and to learn through the trial and error you spoke of, Cole. You did a good job allowing the students room for error to learn from it.
