In the earlier part of the episode Haley and Alex made him watch a slide show of Luke with all his baby photos and stuff to get all his tears out of the way and essentially “cry him out”
Ah yeah. For anyone that don't know, Hayley and Alex made phil watch a video of luke when he was young to get all the cries and emotion out so he doesn't cry at the graduation.
The funny thing is that Alex and Haley did everything to stop Phil from crying and embarrassing them at the ceremony, but then they in turn got emotional and cried out loud 🤣
@trangtruongthu321:well to be fair they are Luke’s older sisters and they clearly also love luke as family despite their arguments with him plus at least this way the parents aren’t the only ones getting emotional about Luke’s graduation
In asia we don't celebrate graduations. Parents quickly sets even higher goals for you. And will curse you till you reach them. And once you do reach them its the same process again and again till you get married and have your own kids to force your decisions on to them. Ahh life here is so simple. I love it.
@@buzinagplays I can't speak for all asians but from my experience not all asian parents are like this, it depends on the environment or country I think. There are alot of average asians around and obviously really smart ones. Honestly my parents never pressured me to do well in school, they never forced me to study when I didn't want to but they did encourage it. I'm a straight A student but that was because I wanted to succeed and perform well and also since I know how valuable education is. A Lot of the pressure comes from myself and what i expect from myself rather than my parents. I actually liked that my parents never tried to shove school in my face since i think it just makes students not want to study. My siblings and I have just been thought to value education, even though our parents never pressured us to get good grades, we all still perform well in school. Some of my friends too also don't have really strict parents who put pressure on their children, just as long as they do their best, actually when I think back to my classmates, none of them seemed to have parent's that put pressure on them but then again I wasn't close to everyone in my class so I'm just speaking based on observation.
I'm binge watching Modern Family. It's kind of sad seeing the kids grow up so fast. I feel like I'm having that Mom moment eventhough I'm younger than them😂
Lol Americans take graduating so seriously😂 in England you go get your results for your gcse then go home and secretly celebrate your scores, I’m still 13 tho maybe I should move to America so I can have one of those graduations😂
Yeah it's similar in Australia, we have the graduation ceremony (but without the caps) then go home, most people go to after parties though, I just met back up with my friends
My graduation lasted for like 6 hours because there were over 500 people graduating with me. But actually walking up there and getting my diploma, it was a huge moment for me and my family because I'm a first generation student. It really is an amazing moment. Plus the after parties are the best 👌
I wish graduation in my country was like what tv shows make it out to be in America. The closer to something like this was my grades of the exams were on the school and basically we took turns to go see it and gave "good job/ congratulations" to each others.
it makes me sad that watching my favorite actor/actress getting old. it makes me feel I'm getting old too and how time really flies well like an arrow. It's been already 10 years since when I first met modern family. Every moment was so grateful and joyful. Thank you for giving me an opportunity to watch this wonderful story.
i don't know if your're trying to sound smart i don't think you understand what you're saying, it's his sons graduation, and he was complimenting gloria for doing a fine job raising him, don't over analyze
I get freeform is usually for the teen dramas you could say but since it’s owned by abc It would’ve been cool to have more of a realistic view of modern family in a vocabulary sense where it’s not all family friendly
I love that Gloria Jay Manny’s dad Claire Phil Mitchell Cam Lily Alex Joe it to watch Manny Gloria’s son graduate and Luke Jay and Gloria’s grandson graduate. I love that he graduated right next to his uncle congrats Manny for graduating high school and grad graduating high school
Call dad Manny graduated with his nephew Luke. He graduated right after his name got called. I guess the principal or the assistant principal whoever called the name doesn’t know that their uncle and nephew.
i have a kind request...Wheather it is possible or not i don't know..please add subtitles with it...as a English learner it will be helpful for me..thank you......
Never knew school graduation was this much of a deal.Belonging from a Indian middle-class family it's only celebration if I got a Govt Job or a Job paying me in six digits otherwise even my existence isn't worth celebrating.
