this is by far the best skimboard video i have ever seen, which was always a shame as this was the first one i watched around 4 years ago. Nothing has beaten Grady Archbold's style nor the music. Great video, thanks!

@skatermcgee900 paint pens usually work great. make sure and sand down the area alittle to prep it and then use non-water based ink pens. Usually just wax over the top works, but clear coat wont hurt.

@SkimmerStyle Foamie is a entry level foam board. You can ride some waves with it for sure but to ride like this you will probably need a high end board.

@FrizBeats I would try Balboa pier (A Street). If the slope is too steep you can walk further north until it flattens out a little.

See i go skim boarding every year and its my favorite thing to do, nothing feels better then being by the ocean, however ive been through 2-3 wooden boards and im curios as too what a good next step for me would be id like to try and get some tunnel action i guess lol like i go go further out and ride a bit on a wave but usually the board cant handle anymore, any advice?

Which skimboards actually keep floating, even if you would sit on it? I happen to have a wooden board at the moment, but I don't know if it's any good.

i got a triple x wave assualt skimboard for $200. is it a good enough board to atleast ride waves?

Such numbers only have meaning when the methods of testing are identical. Our boards are well tested under the feet of the best skimboarders in the world (5 of the top 8) in 2010. @ThatOneGuy1027 the boards can be intimidating in price, but really skimming is a pretty cheap activity. a $299 recruit should last you a solid season of skimming at least. Say 150 days of riding on average? Thats less than 2 bucks a day. Compare that with just about any other action sport and its not that bad. Hope you join us. It's a lot of fun!

@jamesrootify Its possible to ride waves with wood boards but its really a lot harder. Foam boards make it MUCH easier.

yeah, you need a better board! Of course a top end board will never hurt but a recruit would still work good to get you out there riding some waves. they are solid boards for that level of riding and up!
