This is a beautiful redesign of the 208-I absolutely love it.I love how they changed the transom with the wrap around swim platforms.I will wait 5 yrs and buy a used one-new they look like $190k-$210k.
Thanks for posting this fine boat. Here is one thing you might discuss-the width. Years ago, my friend ended up with the 25 foot model and why? The 23 was too wide to LEGALLY tow in his state. It can be a factor and I don't know the width of this one. Another thing is, even if it is technically too wide, it could be they don't enforce it/worry too much ab out it. Also, if you plan to slip the boat, it is a non issue then. But do consider it, it is a lot of money to spend--then find out, it is too wide. So, heads up on that one. Great boat, thanks for posting.
This one's 8'6", so it's legal in all states. Some states do allow to 9'0" and in most states when they're over by "X" amount you can still get a permit to tow them, there are generally justs ome restrictions (like staying off major roadways/bridges during rush hour). Either way, in this cse it's all good!!
That's ok they can price stuff at what ever I'll just adjust my life to adjust to the facts. Just like there 1984 schematic affirmative action does for them to pull it off.
It's best to talk with a local dealer about pricing - thanks to economic conditions boat pricing has been changing so rapidly that any number we might quote can become wrong in short order. You'll notice that because of this issue many manufacturers have stopped publishing MSRPs on their websites, at least for the time being (and Grady-White does not currently have one on there for the 218).
translation: there is no MSRP, it's 2022, they will gouge you as deeply as you allow. Prices are up 30% last two years, quality sucks, don't bother bringing it in for service, nobody wants to work this week.
@@JohnJohn-wr1jo Well, you're certainly entitled to your opinion but most people realize that between Covid craziness/supply chain issues and inflation it's been difficult for manufacturers of any sort of product to maintain steady pricing recently. And with Grady-White in our experience the quality is very high, we don't think that will be a worry in this particular case.
According to Grady they are supposed to be $113,200 to $131,310 MSRP so anything above that is straight up price gouging. I'll never pay a cent above MSRP, same goes for cars/trucks, I walk out of the dealer laughing. Did it recently with new SUV, local dealer wanted 5k above sticker, took a one way flight to Wisconsin and got the exact vehicle DISCOUNTED 3800 under sticker!
@@FishTalkMagazine I loved your review. On these boats, I go right for the middle of the video, looking for and making sure there is a head someplace, just in case nature should call in the worst way out on the water. As to supply chain and inflation - that is (or should be) hogwash. I work for a major manufacturer, and despite all the issues with sourcing and transportation (which are LONG since over, even when this video was published), and the moronic Trump tariffs on goods manufactured in CN, our prices stayed flat. Why? Because contracts were in place, and raising prices at that point did nothing to curb demand. It was just gouging. So if it is hard for anyone to maintain steady pricing, that's for lack of trying, and hogwash. Respectfully. Again, love your reviews. Love this boat.
