India has relatively few metal bands. But with 1.4 billion inhabitants, there are a lot of high-quality bands coming together. Nevertheless, they are unknown outside India. There is a lack of infrastructure that makes them known, such as well-known festivals or large music publishers. Bloodywood is the only exception. Their sound is so unusual that it attracted attention even outside India. In 2016, the flute player/guitarist Karan Katiyar and the Grolwer Jayant Bhadula released cover songs of metal bands or Indian pop music: PUNJABI METAL! ("Mundian to Bach Ke Rahi" Metal Version) The rapper Raoul Kerr joined them in 2018, and in 2019 they were invited to the Wacken Open Air and thus became known throughout Europe. The band doesn't sing the most popular Hinud, but rather Punjabi.
