Another lengthy tutorial this time its how to make your own graffiti ink. Once again i apologise for the length of it, i just like explaining everything to you guys so you understand. i don't claim to be the creator of this recipe as its all over the internet. The recipe doesn't specifically need nail polish remover, most fast drying a solvents will work. i only used nail polish remover as its cheap and has acetone in it, acetone being a popular solvent within graffiti products, let alone homemade recipes. other popular solvents are denatured alcohol/methylated spirits and rubbing alcohol just to name a few.

Turns out buying rubbing alcohol as a 14yr old without my mum knowing in the UK is very difficult so it's much easier to get a bottle of nail polish remover

I normally use 90+% rubbing alcohol and and a splash of dot 3 brake fluid in my krink instead of the acetol

For ghetto krink how long does it take for the paint thinner to eat through the plastic container i got for it? Can I thin the paint down with something else?

Modal Soul that’s a weird one, it’s something you shouldn’t technically do because of how it eats through it, but realistically it’ll take several months to and (if you use a shoe polish mop) your nib will probably break first

You should do this outside. Also this is a good base but you need to add more shit to it if you want a decent product. Illadelph used to have these droppers that made the ink way more staining with just a few drops, try and find that or try adding some griffin shoe dye or some industrial marsh ink.

Pointless lmfao you don't know shit kid. Buffers get lazy all the time if it is too hard to clean and give up leaving your shit riding for a few more days, possibly even weeks. It would be pointless to make this ink if you're going to leave it like this, it will last 15 seconds with a rag and some 90% alcohol.

the statement i makes still stands if the CITY wants it buffed they will do so, if they employ a buffer to buff it and he doesnt do their job, then they wont pay him and employ someone else till the job gets done. And so it will react the same way as 90% of "graffiti brand" inks that cost 4 times as much then?

Dairic Meme Lord well no because paint comes in many different forms, like spray, tubed paint, emulsion paint, AND montana cans’ black marker paint is advertised as ink paint, that’s where I’ve got the term from, because is obviously paint, but considering the body of it in the grand scheme of things it’s closer to an ink consistency

in the event youre serious, youre supposed to only add a tiny swig of break fluid, MAX 1-2% of your solution. too much will make it take really long for your ink to dry,aswell as promote it leaking through your mop as itll eat through plastic and escape through the nib connection. itll give your ink a nice ghosting ability though

CombineMTA nah, if the ink was water based like India ink then yeah, but since it’s oily it’s thick, weird, and generally stubborn. That’s why you need to solvent, to work into the ink to thin it down and then once that’s done you can get it out easier

its ink so it will drip, cant say if it will "drip a lot" becuase different people have varying amounts of "a lot" and also it depends on lots of different things such as how many pens you've used, what pens you've used, how much ink is in your mop. and no ALL grog markers are refillable, the empty ones are the same marker as the prefilled ones. id say at least 90% of "graffiti markers" are refillable

There are plenty of options that are toxic, being ALCOHOL and SOLVENTS (I was just going to say alcohol but the two are slightly different). But if something doesn’t mix with water, you need to mix it with the opposite which is the toxic alternative/s

alcohol is dirt cheap in walmart and pharmacies, if you really cant get it then you can do this same recipe with some very strong vodka or acetone (nail polish remover), however the acetone WILL smell significantly more than an alcohol

another good option if your hard pressed for solvent is just water, the cleaner the better, distilled at the grocery store is 1$, and on the plus side it wont irritate your skin like acitone can, and wont be as flammable (unless your into that) as any alcohol base, though you still shouldnt drink it (only saying that because a guy asked once)

HexxInkworks water is a solvent, and if you recall from your chemistry class it is a "universal solvent" (which is a bit of a misnomer but applies in this case, while water wont work as fast, it will work, though not my preffered solvent for ink (i use propothol, though you shouldnt fuck with it without knowing what your doing) water is a safe bet to tell people that are morons (and being this is the internet i like covering my bases. And if you still dont believe me, give it a try

Loner I wouldn't of thought it would've been strong enough, but that's rather interesting, I'll have to put a pen cartridge in a pot of water and see what happens. Also from what I know typically ballpoint pens don't use water and I think they're of a weird oil base, and as we know oil doesn't mix with water
