I’d recommend refilling a uni broad with anything that has a lot of chemicals. The metal body is durable, and valve is durable. Get new nibs, flare the flat end and you’ll basically have a less messy mop that wont stain your nice khakis(-;

I really like the color and plan on trying to formula out sometime, but I thought it might be a good paint to use on a book cover. Is the ink safe to be handled? If handled, will it stain other surfaces even when dry?
I live in the UK where Oatey Purple Primer is practically unavailable.. Can you use any standard pvc pipe primer/cleaner in substitute? There's one very similar available that's called Black Swan and is practically the same, but clear...
The reason oatey is used is because it itself is a dye of sorts- like GR said its used to prime pvc pipes, so it stains and adheres with solvents and the colour is so that it is visible- it just helps that the colour is purple too, you can use the clear version however your dye won’t have as much colour too it, thus you would have to use more of the methyl violet (which I cannot find anywhere in Canada)

I’m glad to be a plumber I got close to 4 gallons of purple primer 😆. But GR is right do not use this in your house because purple primer is used on new construction not in finished homes. That’s why they make clear primer. But who the hell wants clear primer? 😒 GREAT VIDEO GR.
