Graham Jarvis shows us how to cross logs at an angle by weighting and unweighting the front and rear as it crosses the slippery log. This skill builds on my last video about crossing rail road tracks at an angle • The Easy Way For Begin... only Graham looks way better at it!

It's a good trick to have in your bag! helpful for crossing railroad tracks on an angle when it's wet out also.

WIth a little tiny bit of moisture on that log 95% of the student attempts would have ended with dirt lunches.

Hit a log as square as you can and common sense will take over.

Looks a lot easier than what I did today turning the bike around to put the rear wheel over the log then dragging the front off 😅

That is a fully dried out lock with full bark. Try this in the mountains in The appalacin MTNS.

Title of the video should omit slippery logs. Logs are not slippery unless your tire or the log is wet. Anyways something to practice.

Agreed! Jarvis mentioned it's a good technique for slipperry logs in the video, so that's how it ended up in the title. I think the idea was that if the log is slippery you have use the "unweighting" technique to not slide down it. But yes everything was very dry that weekend so no practicing on official slippery logs...just make believe ones! :)

Look at that standing position on a pro rider, and then you have 5.7 tall guy on the forums asking about 2inch bar risers as he just cant do stand up riding without them..

Honestly, I see way too many people asking what kind of suspension is good for learning this stuff, or what tire or size motor when the fact of the matter is none of that matters much if you have the proper technique. These guys can hop on any bike and do these things! For we mortals it's 95% rider 5% bike!
