I know you teach classes through Be Fluent, but you should seriously consider becoming a Russian language professor in the US or any other English speaking country. You have a fantastic way of explaining Russian grammar rules and those finer/ more obscure points that elude many students. Спасибо за информацию!

College is for the sheep of our society. Theodore is a leader who owns his own business, whereas a professor is an indoctrination machine where values and tradition go to die.

@@greatestytcommentator I didn’t say move to here permanently. I’d never suggest that. I do think he would make a wonderful university professor and I don’t know if there’s an opportunity to teach Russian to non-native speakers at a Russian university.

@@RickyLaFluer7 Well, you’re entitled to your opinion. I couldn’t disagree more . My experience tells me that people who don’t value a university education lack the skills needed to obtain one. And anyone who thinks going to university makes you a “sheep” clearly hasn’t attended one. At least not a reputable one. But good luck to you!

This works for many verbs but not all, like сказать, нажать, воевать, греть, жить, бить (and they're not exceptions - there are just more groups than 2), but I understand that it's just a starting rule for beginners. Just thought it's important for them to know it doesn't apply to a lot of verbs.

I figured there would be some irregular form verbs. The congregation structure for Russian is almost identical to conjugation structure in Spanish. Put Spanish as a handful of reflexive verbs which refer to things that you do to yourself such as bathing or brushing your teeth, and we also have a handful of irregular verbs that don't follow traditional conjugation rules

I LOVE seeing the similarities between languages, this is actually quite similar to learning latin languages too, very common in Spanish as if I am correct there are about 5-7 different conjugations per word also depending upon respect level too. Spanish is actually super formal compared to the English language and just watching this shows there are quite a few similarities just to Spanish alone. Great video! Learning a lot from your channel!

You are wonderful! Федор, я люблю тебя. But is it important to catch someone you care about when they make a mistake. At 3:32 you state that in addition to the "T" you also take out the letter AFTER the "T" when what you mean to say, мой друг, is you take away the letter ( E or И) BEFORE the "T"! The letter AFTER the "T" is "Ь" which is always taken away with "T" in both verb groups. You may need a refresher on your English prepositions 🤭

Hello Fedor, thanks for your Videos, I currently have a russian student, and your videos really help me to prepare the lessons! Could you make a second part about conjugation? I think that this one (probably because it is for beginners) was very superficial, there are a lot of verbs, that do the я-form with -y and not with -ю, and the они-form is sometimes with -ут. In addition, maybe you could explain how to study verb conjugation the best way, as the rules, when we use e- and и-conjugation are very complex and it's not done by saying -ать ist the first group, and -ить and the rest is the second group. I think if a foreigner want to speak russian correctly, verb conjugation might be one of the most annoying topics.

The most weird thing is to strive to grasp grammar. Instead just do some practice on daily basis which we all do being kids , learning our mother tongue. This is the only resultive way to learn a language
@iTzic21
@iTzic21 9 месяцев назад
I agree with your sentiment. That's how I learned English. Through video games, music and RU-vid I kinda submerged myself into the language and learnt through time (still do, obviously) how things go. Now I simply "understand" English without having to translate anything into my native tongue. But besides that we studied the language in class and I think grasping a little grammar while practicing helps tremendously with overall understanding. Or at the very least, gives you a little guidance when getting into it.
