@@Lizbeth_Moon The graphics are the exact same, the emulator just gives a cleaner resolution and picture. For component video the ps2 had, these graphics still looked astonishing for it's time.
from PS1 to PS2 is truly a generation leap, i remember getting my jaw drop the first time my friend bought this game and his PS2 from US, the car reflection and the wet road at night is such an eyegasm that day..
This game was perfect. In retrospect, for the time, it was perfect in every way. Soundtrack, graphics, car selection, track selection, single player, and split screen. This game was the Gold standard. Plus, I miss how the third person view isn’t fixed to the car like it is now. This looks more natural and easier to play in third person view (behind car).
wow didn’t think you would be here, anyways you still owe us that civic video because your very serious guide to corvettes video has reached over 80k views at this point.
The sound of the tires screeching on the pavement hitting a turn was enough to transport me back to the middle of my childhood living room, ps2 controller in hand, poptart by my side, enjoying this game on a cold winter Saturday after my big brother got a new PS2 Christmas. God what a time to be alive.
Gran Turismo 3 was the killer game of Sony console ps2. For that matter it has the best quality ever seen in a ps2 game, GT4 will do it better. The rest is history. Still the main product for the franchise PlayStation.
@@Fredsinator Resolution cant upscale textures and 3d models (except gouraud and flat), only the edges. Dont mix resolution with graphics. The game may been less clear, but every piece of enviroment remains the same.
Still better than most of racing games. What a legend it was. I'm so regretful that i sold my original cased Gt3 game with my PS2 console. Good old memories...
I play this on pcsx2 as well, though I've got a 1050ti so only HD for me, but the upscaling on pcsx2 is really something. I still remember when a friend brought his Ps2 over, I'd been busy and hadn't had much time for gaming, I knew the Ps2 had just dropped, but hadn't seen it yet. My friend stuck on gt3 and I spent a hour just looking through the dealerships, graphics were such a huge jump from ps1, as was the 293mhz cpu. Still the best console ever in my opinion.
I remember when the first batch of PS2 coming out and thinking… not much different or better than the Sega Dreamcast. But then this game and others came out (Metal Gear Solid 2)… we knew a game like this proved Sony was not BSing about the PS2’s capabilities. This game is stunning to say the least.
It's no question why this racing game was the king in 2001, crystal clear graphics top notch music playability beyond belief and above all a deep feeling for the game.
i will say this, GT4 is a better game overall than GT3,more cars, more things to do,It is a fantastic game,i still play It to this day and it is amazing in every aspect, but GT3 is the most popular game in the series, and for a good reason, its a awesome and overall funnier game, the ost is the best of the franchise by far imo,the cars are better looking, better sounding, idk i may be very well speaking bullshit here but this game holds a very special place in my heart,i never got any longer in terms of progress(not that i remember)in game but the little things make the magic happen, the cars, the races, the ost,the feel, this game was so special,i miss it so much.
DJ Thanos No seriously!! Look at it! It it looks just as good as 2017 racing game! Yes if you look closely you can see the polygons and some of the backgrounds look a bit old, but if you compare a screenshot from a 2017 game like forza or something, and look at this, it really looks very similar!
This is great! My second favorite Gran Turismo game. The game does look phanominal still to this day! It sounds awesome as well. I just wish they had classic muscle cars in this one.
Such a great game, thanks for sharing! I got a PS2 on launch day, but this was the game that I waited for. One very minor complaint about the video is that the settings during the last 5 seconds of the video are blocked by previews for your other videos.
As beautiful and complex and detailed as games have become, I don't think anything will surpass the PS2/Xbox era for innovation, excitement and the sheer joy of gaming. I don't want to come across as exclusionary, but this period was peak geek, when being a gamer still felt a bit like being part of a secret society. Or maybe I'm just being nostalgic, dunno...
I remember playing this in our living room. My dad came in and thought he was watching a race on tv. He kept saying, "that guy can't drive." My father was 61 at the time though. He had no idea games looked that good yet.
Ahh yes this was the only racing game I used to play as a child I used to only play as the viper the car you played as and I’m only 14 yo I loved this game so much
Kazunori needs to get off that damn cloud he is in and give us a GT game that surpasses this. He has all the money and resources to do it but all he wants is for his games to look good. What about the thrill of a race? What about the emotion of anticipation one gets when they get off work and go straight into playing GT? What about that raw fierce competition of racing you feel when one plays GT3 and how thats lost in the new GTs? Kazunori, PLEASE. I implore you
I remember being 8 years old and playing arcade mode, the Nissan R399 GT1 and Toyota GT one were so incredibly fast, while i was stuck with the red viper. And the Mazda 787b just being impossible to beat. Good times tho
I love how you have to do tests to get each divison license to move forward in the story. It make you feel more rewarding to drive more higher division car
This was my first ever game on my first ever console, I was 5 years old and didn't know how to play the game and would end up driving a silver lexus altezza everytime because I'd spam X 😅. I had this one game for years and years, What I'd give to live in that moment again for 1 day.
