Same engine, but a little different The one on the GS is a longitudinal version, used for RWD sedans across Toyota / Lexus lineup While the one in this minivan is the transversal, used for FWD cars ike the Camry, Lexus RX, and this van They're not interchangeable. For example if you want to swap in a V6 for your lexus GS / IS you can't use the V6 fron this van
This is THE car to have if you are stinking rich in Indonesia. It's luxurious (yet somewhat understated), comfortable, and it's a Toyota, so it can be serviced anywhere
This car is literally everywhere in Indonesia (especially in the uptown areas), along with the Vellfire and its Lexus twin (LM350). The boss in my former workplace had one with the same model year, except that his was the 4-cylinder variant. Fun fact: most of the Alphards here were the 4-cylinder models, V6 models were quite uncommon and Hybrid models were a rare sight here.
@@Real_British the problem is Pacifica in a perspective was a Family Friendly Minivan ... Some people and communities in Japanese websites and some Japanese Car magazine puts Alphard as if it's not just a Family Minivan.. Sure Pacifica got a V6 and power similar to Alphard, but man the embodiement of Alphard and the perspective of that Minivan in Japan is somewhat in a level of a Luxury Mid sizers lol ...
Alphard is popular not only in Indonesia but also in the Philippines as well. It also has a modified version has been sold by Lexus under Lexus LM and it is sold in several Asian markets outside Japan.
These are the kinds of cars I love to see in Japanese racing games. I always picked a minivan as my starter in Enthusia. Sports cars and race cars are all nice as well, but I also want to drive this.
Agreed. I loved GT4 for allowing me to drive my moms shitbox car. Now, I’m lucky to find a Ford Focus at all, and it’s certain to be an RS. Or at LEAST an ST. I just want the basic 1.6L eco boost model… Same goes for VW. Can get loads of GTis, but where is the regular little Up?
I rode many times in this alphard many times as a OJT in Toyota as a mechanic. It's luxurious, quiet and a giant home, the only problem is Radiator cooling fan motor issues, I've replaced them and got for test drive. It's so fun with a sliding door.
Well it is a 2GR-FE engine seen in high performance luxury toyotas (Crown, Mark X). Lotus even have this engine, adds a Supercharger and then put it into the Evora and also, recently the Emira..
It's a van for rich Asian families. You don't need to worry about fuel economy when you're rich. Also, they should add daily, and commercial vehicles as well like Hyundai Accent, Toyota Hiace, Isuzu D-MAX, Mitsubishi Pajero Sport, Daihatsu Ayla, etc.. And a big middle finger to those salty diehard GT fans who always demand sports cars. It's a "Real Driving Simulator" not "Sports cars, Hypercars, and Racecars Simulator".
Back in GT4 where commuter cars like the Honda Odyssey, Nissan Cube, Renault Avantime, BMW 120d, Volvo 240, the Kei cars, etc were in the game.. It is just nicer, you have a wide range of cars too choose, instead of just sport cars.
I see a fellow Indonesian too here. They would also need to add the legendary Avanza, be it either the old one (RWD) or the newer one (FWD). Also don't forget its upscale variant, the Veloz.
I wish they did Enthusia for PC. It being only on PS2 is bad, obviously couldn't compete with GT. And yes on PC it would get pirated a lot (they would lose sales) just like Midnight Club 2 did, but hey... if you want the game to get more popular, PC is the way.
@@kotarojujo2737 why is that ? Why do you think minivan like Alphard is so Luxurious ? I've heard a lot of Toyota communities who has this imported said that it feels luxurious ? In U.S something like this would be a Chrysler Pacifica, even though it uses V6 from Jeep Wrangler, but it doesn't feel as if Luxurious or fast or something ??
I mean I can see why it's popular in south east asia but I very much prefer an suv over this. Sacrifice space for better comfort and ride quality. This car is great for tall people tho
In real life, if you opt for the JBL package, it includes bells and whistles like a 360 degree camera, 17 speakers or "home theatre", auto parking and etc
In my country they use this type of luxury van to put dead people~ Somewhat like a custom for the final journey for the person to reach Nirvana~ It a good MPV, loved it~ But recently with the release of Kia Carnival~ Im kinda go toward that Turbo Diesel they offered~ Nevertheless nice vehicle Toyota~ Plus I dont care reliable
@@olavofernandes7286 do you know about Recond car? My country do sold... But with high price. So local usually buy from Recon car seller. Those car imports from Japan... Unless your country don't have Recond car service lol There plenty of options as long it right hand side steering wheel.
Sri Mulyani: looks around nervously (There is a political controversy right now after an governmental Alphard carrying her was spotted entering an airport's apron)
Who would've thought an MPV for crazy rich Asians would be playable in GT7... Can't imagine if you're driving it the way you do in the game but when your boss is sitting at the back 🗿
TL;DR: Ignore my stupid story/comment, just describing and comparing the Alphard to our childhood Estima. I love the Alphard. We used to have (Thank you ULEZ!😢) a beautiful cherry red JDM 2008 (new shape) Estima, the Alphard is like on the next level up but our Estima was amazing growing up, I was like 12 or 13 when we got it back in 08 and it had a captains chair for my brother who’s in a wheelchair that would rise out of the sliding door and to the pavement/sidewalk to make it easier for him to get in. Then I had my own captains chair on the other side of the car. They could lie perfectly flat, and they were so comfortable, heated and cooled with vents to below and above, TVs we could plug the GameCube into, a main TV with a tuner that didn’t work properly because it was for Japan I guess but the other stuff did incl the DVD player under my dads seat, and then a third bench row at the back for my 2 youngest siblings with their own tv, and RCA input, cup holders, air con, heating, etc. I believe all the seats could go down to create a nice big bed as well but if there’s just two of you, the captains chairs were good enough. We did for a time also have a toilet like from a Caravan but it was not a factory option just something my mom added, and it was weird so we just got rid of it. Anyway, that was err, long and dull… sorry for anyone who read this far.
Yesterday i just played gt7 after the update and while checking toyota in brand central saw this car I was shocked to see this like why did they add this to the game and its kinda expensive like 75k even a supra is 70k which is way better than this car like why would they add a car like this and this expensive
In Japan this mpv is expensive it's consider high status symbol automobile this and Nissan elgrand 4wd star polyphony digital added this type of vehicle due to being odball and fits in gran turismo dna that what I love every type of vehicle
@@olavofernandes7286 Ik because in Indonesia that car is also expensive and even more expensive than in Japan because of taxes, import cost and many more. Ik the game was trying to be realistic by making this car 70k because it's kinda close to their price in real life but there's no way I'm gonna buy this though even if I have a lot of money in the game cuz with that money I could just buy a supra which is way better and btw right now I'm saving for r34 from brand central
@@drhexhox8740 polyphony digital added this because they are balling don't be fooled thinking they are your regular game developer they are more than that also acociate with major Japanese car manufacture and car enthusiast etc
@@drhexhox8740 I guess you are new to gran turismo franchise polyphony digital has been adding oddball cars like this since the first gran turismo in 1997
