Yeah, clearly we can run a BOP'd mini WEC event, but with only 16 cars... The Mazda has about 40 MPH of top speed on the Gr.4 Swift, just saying.

Thank you for the comment Jonky! The RX500 will always be the goat 🐐 It was the ringer car of ringer cars when all we had was open lobby racing back in GT6. I love any rotary engined car, but that’s definitely my favorite. My best friend bought an FD RX-7 a few years back, due to our obsession with the FD while in high school.

The wildest! I am still in disbelief that just happened. Then we get the update today, and the Mazda is unchanged… still a rocket ship 🚀 The 458 was unchanged… the devs must not have watched my video… All the cars are BOP’d exactly the way Polyphony wants them to be 🥲

Yeah, I am kinda surprised that they didn’t adjust the Mazda at all. Truly an advantage having speed like that vs a Gr.4 car like the Suzuki Swift.

I can’t believe I used to drive the Ferrari exclusively Kreaser. I was a being a total mad man, driving around trying to win races in a straight up Gr.4 car… No BOP updates for the Mazda or the 458 Gr.3 today. They want my Ferrari to be slow forever 😞

I think we need to have a multi-class Stage X, Group 3.5 championship race in a lobby tonight! The quickest Gr.4 cars vs the slowest Gr.3. Bugatti, Mazda, Peugeot, McLaren, Ferrari, + the Swift Gr.4 vs the Gr.3 Ferrari and whatever else is slow in Group 3.

Way OP is right. Mullet nearly made history with that race. He showed in the first half of the lap that the Mazda 3 is just as fast as the Ferrari and took the lead for a moment. Even in clean air, the 458 and Mazda 3 are basically equal Come check out my stream tonight if you can! I plan to create a lobby where we may end up creating part II of that video. I plan to race the Mazda against a full lobby of Gr.3 cars. I doubt the Mazda 3 will finish last 🥇🏆

Why not compare them properly? No drafting. Also, why not put the 650 out there? It's got a vastly superior win rate than the Mazda. Also superior handling. Plenty of gr4 cars could do the same

We tested and literally no other Gr.4 can do the same… Bugatti couldn’t keep up. The Mazda 3 Gr.4 is an outlier for straight line speed, which I said early in the video was all I wanted to see, vs my favorite Gr.3 the 458

Take a lack of understanding about bump drafting and slipstream conceptually (even if almost perfectly executed in practice), aerodynamic drag on the GT3 v GT4, and not ridiculously different HP figures once BOPed, you get disbelief I suppose...very entertaining though

There is no lack of understanding. We tested other cars and no other Gr.4 had the power to keep up with the Ferrari above 160 mph. Bugatti was falling back in the draft, while the Mazda was actually able to get ahead. The Mazda 3 overtakes other Gr.4's like they are standing still, so I knew there was a chance it was going to do well here. Thank you for the comment Nate!

I drive mostly WRX and Cayman GT4 and both of those cars drafting the MAZDA3 in a straight line lose ground. The MAZDA3 has no one to draft. That car is way to fast.

@gatesj2538 The Cayman and WRX are sweet cars! Cayman interior is perfect! Such a shame the Mazda 3 leaves them and the rest of Gr.4 in the dust unless tire wear is on. The Audi, VW and Peugeot were all super fast at one point in GT Sport and all of them gained power and lost weight eventually. The Mazda needs to bulk up with +5% weight to slow it down.
