Sure, he keeps on smirking like always, but he foregoes dropping any of his usual innuendos to instead viciously insult her to her face. That's how hard Nier hit the nail on the head in describing him and his doomed love for Lucilius, and deep down beneath all his stubborness and denial, he probably knows it.

It makes sense to make Nier, who is friends with Gran and Djeeta, but encounters their counter part who don't know her yet. It's an interesting fight.

It's interesting to see how several characters, even some of the ones who tend to be rather mean like Metera, are clearly trying to be nice and extend an olive branch to Nier despite the fact she is clearly deeply unwell to the point of trying to murder them. But at the same time she is so lost in her own head and unable to work through her issues to the point she either completely doesn't notice or outright refuses their help while still claiming she desperately wants to be loved. She admits that she refuses to trust anyone/let them get close and yet seems confused why nobody loves her while she goes out of her way to make that virtually impossible. Even if there was someone who 100% loved her exactly as she is now she STILL wouldn't get the love she wants b/c she doesn't seem to understand you have to let people get close to you to actually be able to receive it. Makes for an interesting character but I'm also surprised nobody called her out on that, it seems like a blatant hypocrisy/contradiction in her logic.

It's amazing how Nier and Vira are two entirely different kinds of 'You Can't Fix Her'.

I haven't seen a lore comment so I suppose I'll do one. Nier is an Arcarum Evoker, one of ten individuals bound to a primal beast via a pact. These primals are unique in that their nature is incredibly unstable, their pact is needed in some extent to cement them into reality, they were experimental primals that currently only exist as part of a plan for a primal called "The World" to destroy and reshape the sky realm. Each Arcarum is bound to someone who's life has been drowned in misery and suffering. IN the Gacha, most of them have broken away from The World, making their pacts essential to their survival. Nier is also a complete psychopath. The thing driving her most is an intense desire and obsession to be loved. Nier was born to a wealthy family of nobles that prided themselves on their ability to use magic and their excellence in it. Nier however, paled in magic compared to her sister. Her family did not take kindly to this, Nier was treated horribly - she'd barely be fed and whenever she was it was almost always garbage. Her family would often keep her locked away while they doted on her sister. Nier, in a desperate attempt to be loved by her family turned to the dark arts in hopes of gaining their affection by unlocking the secrets of an old family grimoire with the help of the Primal Arcarum, Death. Turns out, Nier was VERY good at deciphering this book - it required a special mix of desperation and despair that Nier harbored thanks to her families awful treatment of her. Of course, her father was immensely pleased she was able to read this tome and asked her to copy down it's contents. For the first time, Nier felt loved and wanting that praise she dedicated herself to translating that book. Small problem, after she finished her father STILL didn't care about her at all. She'd given him the only thing she could have, the tome's contents translated and in a form he could read - and to read that tome she'd already built up a pile of 'boyfriends'. Most of which followed a cycle of either being horrible people only interested in Nier for her wealth, or average people who were understandably not all that chill when they found a small mountain of corpses in her cupboard. So Her father ordered for Nier to be executed for her crimes, completely unaware that most of those boyfriends died because Nier believed they had 'betrayed' her. This final straw caused Nier to fully cement her pact with Death, her family begged for mercy as she murdered them in vengeance and heartbreak. Nier is VERY murder happy, even if she doesn't enjoy it. Her Arcarum Primal, Death is as much a vital emotional support as she is the worst enabler possible. Their ultimate goal isn't that different to "The Worlds" or as the man himself points out, Lucillius's. Nier wants to destroy the world and then rebuild it with people who will love her for who she is. Right now, she's found enough of a place in Gran/Djeeta's crew to be dissuaded from that path and in the Gacha the crew have been trying to 'fix' her for ages and while she has gotten slightly better, she's gone from "Will kill at the drop of a hat" to "won't kill because it's inconvenient to the crew". In her uncaps, it's possible for Nier to kill Gran/Djeeta if the player chooses the wrong options. Don't let her meek demeanor fool you, Nier has a body count that would put even some of the worst villains in Granblue Fantasy to shame. Yet for all her lack of confidence, it's never occurred to her that part of the problem is her cavalier use of murder to fix her problems.

Man, when you line them all up one after another like this, you really see how murder is Nier's solution to everything.

I had gotten curious and had looked up Nier's lore and boy.. She's long gone. That origin story is sad.

nier is my favorite character, my second favorite character would be belial, and their interaction shows that they are actually similar in many ways despite having completely different personalities i want to ship them

Nier maybe long gone with sanity but that doesn't mean a hand of support can't be extended.

It's nice that some of the more mature characters don't even judge her and genuinely take pity on her in spite of her behavior.

Why are some scenes cut short?

Nah, the Vira one is just too good. Belial as well, but theres something so excellent in storytelling when people differentiate their reasoning despite being one in the same or the logical conclusion being one in that same as the person they're trying to detatch from. Sure maybe Neir desires love from anyone who can give it to her and Vira is ONLY focused on Katalina, but the roads are paved in similar material even if they have slightly different turns or avenues.

So from what I can tell from these interactions alone: No, you cannot fix her. Yes, you will die trying. And make her worse in the process. This is the level of madness we're dealing with here. Attempting to fix her will only break her further.

some of these translations are so weird - changed for no reason. For example, both Narmaya and Yuel are commenting on Nier's bloodlust. It's what wakes Narmaya up. And Yuel thinks her bloodlust is the reason the slime got away. Normally I'm all for changing stuff if it's a cultural thing that doesn't make sense for a western audience, but it's a little strange that was changed.

Please lower the music in these vids, it gets in the way of the voices. Thanks for the video though.

Daaaaamn. I don't play the gacha, but I'm somewhat familiar with the lore. I thought she got along with the crew despite being a psycho, but here everyone is roasting her (except Metera surprisingly, she is a ho but she is wholesome). I feel kinda bad for the poor girl
