I was fortunate enough to be able to stay the night at the Grand Californian Hotel and Spa, a Disney hotel located next to Disney California Adventure with direct access into the park. It is a magnificent and marvelous hotel, and I loved everything about it! I was able to book a Deluxe Studio Room using my Disney Vacation Club points.
I did an overview of the hotel lobby, and then I went to Craftsman Grill to grab some "to go" items to eat for breakfast. I hung out in the pool for a while and waited for my room to be ready. I went to Craftsman Bar for lunch, and I had some of the best chicken wings I have ever eaten. My room was ready around 12:30 pm in the afternoon.
I did a room tour to show you guys what a Deluxe Studio in the DVC section of the hotel looks like. My room was amazing! I could hear the sounds of DCA right across from my room, and it made for a magical and fun experience. I went to Carthay Circle for a snack and got the Artisan Cheese Plate.
I relaxed in the room for a bit and then went to the pool and hung out in the hot tub while listening to the live music at Craftsman. It was a truly magical evening, and one I will never forget. The hotel is VERY deserving of the "Grand" title, and everyone that works there is incredible! The Cast Members are friendly and professional, and they go above and beyond to ensure your stay is perfection.

That's a beautiful property. I've only been to DCA twice in the last two years, so I never saw DCA when it was "California" themed. But watching the style and detailing of the Grand Californian Hotel shows it is a true homage to the arts and crafts/craftsman movement.

I remember DCA back in 2001 when it opened and I was a kid, but it was a "half day park" back then...the theming was actually really fun (and I liked the Beach Boys songs that would play), but there weren't enough attractions and things to do. It sure has changed for the better. The big "C-A-L-I-F-O-R-N-I-A" letters outside and the SF Golden Gate Bridge entrance were cool though!

Hello Rik, I just found your vlogs yesterday 4-7-24 and have been watching them non stop. You are extremely detailed and articulate in all your videos, describing Disney parks, hotels and food. I just love your videos and you speak very well and clearly and do a wonderful job of video taping so we all can see. I am from Southern California, born here. My daughter too. We had moved out of state for 6 months, but missed So Cal so much we came back to our home state. We just came back end of February 2024. Cannot wait to go back to Downtown Disney. Years ago we had stayed at the Grand Californian Hotel there, best hotel experience ever. I was looking at vlogs yesterday of the Grand California Hotel and saw all your Disney related vlogs. My daughter and I are now planning to stay again at the Grand Californian for the 2024 Christmas 🎄 holiday. I also want to say what a kind heart you have, watched your Thanksgiving vlog where you mentioned people who are alone during holidays can reach out to you. Hello! I've been enjoying seeing around Disneyland in your videos recently. Others' videos, from characters to walking around, etc., are a great way to feel you're visiting the park and a part of it there, so I'm thankful for what people share. I greatly appreciate your interest in the Bootstrappers. Being a huge fan of theirs, I seek out wherever they're uploaded, from specific videos of them to being included in broader videos, such as these. They truly are incredible, as characters and musicians. I wanted to let you know that if you have fuller footage of them (since moments- such as simply them talking- and songs with them would cut (I imagine to be shorter within your video)), I would be more than happy to watch everything you recorded of them, if you would be willing to also upload separate videos of just them (while of course still keeping pieces of them in your main videos as well- it could even get other people interested in them :D). Either way, thank you! I'll take every second I can get of these pirates. Also, I've only walked around the main floor area of the Grand Californian before, but yes, it is beautiful! I've long appreciated it.

My favorite videos are when the ride on the Columbia and play! They are incredibly talented.

@@TikiRikAdventures Cool! Thank you so much! It is wonderful when they can play on the Columbia. Great atmosphere and at home for them to be on a ship. Though, it feels they're in their territory anywhere they roam New Orleans. They are a living part of it. And I love all their different personalities and the music they perform. I know their names and have come to know the songs well. I've seen infinite videos, from earliest spanning across to newly uploaded. I was wondering what the conversation was prior to Stringfellow saying 'No wonder they call it Dead Man's Grotto. There's dead guys. Lots of dead guys everywhere.', haha (in the 'NEW Cheesy Garlic Pretzel Bread at Disneyland' video). Love Grieving Tim having to look away and Crow's Nest pleasantly laughing by the umbrella. Do you have footage of what happened just before that to know how their conversation lead there? (And of course, I'd watch all of whatever you have of them.) Thank you again!
