Maccabee is the greatest wrestler of all time. I used to like Bob Holly, Crash Holly, Tommy Dreamer and Dean Malenko but now The Mighty Maccabee is my new fave.
There's something incredibly endearing about Kowalski's weird promo and his weird match antics. And as you say, he was doing a damn good job for a guy his age.
I work at a Salvation Army store in Norman, Oklahoma and today we actually received one of the Grand Masters of Wrestling DVDs. I laughed because it made me think of this review of it, but then my next thought was, "Oh no, the world is still cursed by the Mighty Maccabee....."
I actually like watching them because so many of these wrestlers have passed away since these DVDs were filmed it’s kind of like a little bit of a time capsule,

"What is this? Is this life?" I've heard that before. What the fuck is that from? It reminds me of "The Room". That horrendous movie with Tommy Wiseau. Could you imagine if Tommy Wiseau got into wrestling?! What a train wreck that would be.
John T. Campbell... when I heard that, the first thing I thought of was the David after Dentist RU-vid video, at one point he says, what is this ?... is this real life ?
I’m rewatching these reviews of obscure wrestling promotions again and I still laugh as much as when I first watched them!!! This is absolute comedy gold!!
Impending Doom I think you meant to call The Mighty Maccabee, The Macca Tack, but it’s all good he’s still a legend Maccabee for HOF 2020 (Edit: and president too, why the hell not?)
@@TeemoQuinton Not as bad as the smarks that hate Reigns lmao. They got so mad over a fake tv scripted show results. Bunch of fat virgins. Calls them cringey but responds 3 weeks later just to let me know Reigns supporters suck. 😂😂
Hang on, is this the event that Steve Corino told the story about, where the Iron Sheik launched a promo against the Mighty Maccabee which was ridiculously over-the-top in its anti-Semitism and racism? Because if that's on the DVD, I'm buying it the first chance I get.
He Also Wrestled in a South African Gimmick as Col. DeKlerk in the Early 90s. He Appeared at StarrCade 1990 in the Pat O'Conner Tag Team Tournament, as Well as Some Independents Here & There
+Wrestling With Wregret True he did and was a great performer actually saw him a couple times when he wrestled here in Denver when he did some work in The AWA,so maybe Jim Powers or Paul Roma instead!!!
I actually used to work with youngest guy in the opening skit! His name is Landon! He’s a newscaster now and did some work for our school newspaper at the University of Nevada when I was the assistant sports editor! He’s a super cool dude and it was a shock to see him in this video!
mighty macabbie (sorry for the butchered spelling) must have gone to either the Ric Flair or Chris Paul school of flopping. Since he doesn't bleed, I'm assuming the Ric Flair and Chris Paul schools of flopping merged to become the Flair-Paul flopping academy
I have all the Grandmasters of Wrestling DVD's. I personally like them and thought for a buck each, they were pretty good considering they were in the Dollar Tree. Since I'm a fan of 1990's independent wrestling, It brings back fond memories of me and my family going to New Jersey seeing the legends in action and talking to them after the events were over. 8^)
@@TheLarryburns84 Right bro. People forget, many of those wrestlers on the cards were sadly past their prime. They were older, had injuries that lagged for years and struggled with substance abuse. But they did their best since it was their calling despite their drawbacks.
@@TheLarryburns84 Yes, Ken Patera was fine with me and had his autograph by him. He shook my hand and thanked me for coming to one of his meet and greet sessions.. The McDonalds incident change his persona, and will usually come up on Q&A interviews, But he deals with it in a professional manner from last I saw him regarding it.
That was awesome. We used to get shows like this around our area in the 90's. Met Greg Valentine, Medusa, and Wahoo McDaniels at an event at a local fair.
Can you review Rodman Down Under? It was a promotion out of Australia which made one DVD (sold for a dollar at Walmart) which featured a lot of older wrestlers, a performance from Dennis Rodman that makes his WCW appearances look like 5 star classics and horribly bad commentary
5:05 I just had flashbacks to watching Monday Nigt RAW in it's first few months. I must've watched old tapes of it a ton growing up as I remember Sharp screaming during those matches too.
i got these for a dollar a piece, also at walmart here in cincinnati and i love having them in my collection. not because they are any good at all, but i like going to friends houses and getting drunk and putting these on and watching how pissed people get lol
Oh my god your production went up in this one! Your skit went so long you need a part 2 lol I'm not minding you're my favorite wrestling channel and I hope you get a gig for the big time in your future. I remember Mike Sharp and his loud mouth jobs he used to do in the 80s and seems like he got the rest of the crew in this DVD to follow suit lol
yep....there is even footage on YT of him working Johnny Grunge in Austria....as Cheetah Kid....Paul E. saw them working together and thought they worked well together as opponents so he put them together as P.E. for the first ECW show in 1993
Interesting note: The Cheetah Kid gimmick would be retired after this match and the man behind the mask, Ted Petty would change his name to Rocco Rock and become one half of one of the greatest tag teams in ECW history, The Public Enemy
Might Mac, I could not stop laughing. This sounds like the MST3K of wrestling. Now if only we could re-lease the discs with Zane's voiceover, you would have "Wrestling Gold".Zane hint, hint, nod, nod.
hey there, Mr Zane! 4 questions= 1] which do you personally think was worse: Grandmasters of Wrestling or Heroes of Wrestling? 2] speaking of; I know everyone else has covered it, but can you please cover Heroes of Wrestling too whenever you have the chance? 3] which wrestling video game, in your opinion, has the best creation mode of all? 4] would you like yo see yourself as a CAW, and if so, can you give me permission to make one of your likeness? keep up the great job!
+triplestar100 Yo! 1) I haven't watched Heroes of Wrestling all the way through yet so I can't make a fair comparison, all I know is that both are bad in their own special way. 2) A Heroes of Wrestling review is definitely coming up in the future! 3) I've been out of the loop with wrestling video games over the years so I can't speak much to the quality (or lack thereof) in most titles from the last 5 years or so. But I always had fun with the Smackdown vs. Raw CAW modes, as well as No Mercy's! 4) I would be honored! You can post a pic or video of it on the WWW Facebook page!
Wrestling With Wregret thanx a million for the answers! as for #4, would you like me to use your "Perfect Primaddona" gimmick for the entrance? if not, what kind of ring entrance do you personally think would fit?
triplestar100 God, no. The less we see of the "PPD" gimmick, the better, lol! You can always try and recreate the sweatsuit look, or you can always check out my playlist of matches I was involved in to get an idea! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-UmOxOC1235s.html
Thought I'd heard the name before. I think I may have seen him in some older footage as well, possibly from Australia "World Championship Wrestling" (not to be confused with the other WCW).
Double Agents he also trained shane douglas, the guy who tossed the nwa title and buried all of the great icons who made the nwa a powerhouse back in the day
When I was living in America in around 2008, I came back from school to find the first 2 volumes of these AND Dennis Rodman Down Under sitting on my bed.....I don't have a good relationship with my parents
Ok this is about my tenth time watching this over the last few years. Took me 4 years to admit this I was in the crowd. Livingston is 20 minutes from me. I was 18 in 93 and saw the names and figured why not. Forgot what the ticket price was. But whatever it was it was worth it to meet Sheik. Yeah I knew it was a train wreak from the jump of the show.
Nuclear power plant built on top of an Indian burial ground? Is that a reference to Zombie Bloodbath by any chance? Even the opening has the Zombie Bloodbath vibe to it xD
