My favourite version, in large part because she's one of the very few to actually get those tambourine beats in time with the music (mostly) lol. And to be clear, that's not a diss on the dancers. This variation is hard enough without having to fool around with a tambourine, but the fact is that the sound of the tambourine makes it extra, jarringly clear when someone doesn't get it in time (same for the Act I Kitri variation when done with castanets). S'why even though I like the variation itself, I hate that it's such a popular competition piece, because most younger dancers don't have the strength and control necessary to be balancing on one leg en pointe and playing percussion instruments.
I watched some renditions of the Esmeralda variation even long before TikTok made it a trend (gotta love the hilarious attempts at the ballonnes releves in the videos). But what else is even better than seeing the ENTIRE pas de deux in FULL? Both dancers in the video taught at least a session under Worldwide Ballet Class, which I enjoy watching even as an ex-combo-tap-and-ballet-class student. (Yuan Yuan Tan taught one last June 20, and Felipe Diaz taught several.)
Molto bravi.Bighin GIULIO RENZO
Both Tan and Felipe Diaz are/were San Francisco Ballet principals. Now Diaz is a Ballet Master and Assistant to the Artistic Director at SF Ballet. He often leads the class on the World Ballet Day broadcasts. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-Y-uWQeWi7s0.html
Deep yellow tint, costumes, & Lighting on both alters their true natural fair white skin tones- subtle reminder dancers are not racially white.Tan is as fair as porcelain doll , & he is bit tanned. Russians etc wear ghost white full body makeup, thus facial makeup more noticeable. This is dance, not photo shoot- art is in MOVEMENT .
