WOW! Never seen Teya just pick up a gun and shoot that well. She better not let that gun get away from her. Anytime I find a gun that I just straight shoot, I buy it. Never regretted it.

Another great review GB and Teya! I’d love to try a GP in my hand for size but they are extremely hard to find in most gun stores. 😕

Yes, they've never had the weight of distributors pushing them to dealers, more of something you hust have to chance.

I'd like a p11d if I could find one. Luckily this guy recommended meprolight front night sight, and grip tape kinda is needed time for GP to come out with a 2.0 version w more texture....the p11d should be marketed here for CCW and both the Excalibur and q100 should be marketed better for competition here in the US IMO.

Really great video and great gun…. I grew up on double action revolver triggers and that long smooth pull is the most accurate way for me to shoot. Why is the tightening of the hand leading up to the shot plants the gun in anticipation oh the firing recoil… but my experience is with 367 Mag loads.That all said my 90 odd year old mother loves her Kimber Micro and that short crisp instantly available trigger…. and she can shoot a bat in mid flight. It is worrisome when I come in a the house after her bedtime and she is up… that means she illuminates me with the laser… rather than a flashlight… she never has had the safety on… but she is no fool and trigger aware. So I can see the point of the instant break of a crisp trigger… that is how I like rifles. This gun and review make me reconsider pereference of a double action trigger. Recently my carry gun has been a CZ75 Compact so a little of both. I recently lost my regular Beretta carry gun, hurt that $1800 gun gone… so looking for a new carry the CZ is just too heavy… considering the Kahr S9, this Grand Power, or a S&W Shield Plus. That Kahr looks very tempting and a friend in the machining business knows Mr Moon well. But this Grand Power is tempting but a little afraid of weight and size. I have wanted a GP for a long time… then again there is that fumble together field strip. Too many choices…

“I need the trigger a little bit closer to me.” Welcome to the story of my pistol purchasing life. I don’t get to pick the best pistol, I have to go with the pistol with the trigger I can reach. If I didn’t I might have stopped buying pistols after the P7M13.
@GBGuns
@GBGuns Год назад
The "best pistol" is the one you can run best. You've seen us review sub $200 to over $2,000 and shoot well with most of them. Run what works for you, not what someone says is coolest.
@CaveWyatt
@CaveWyatt Год назад
@@GBGuns No, I get that. During the last military trials I bought one of everything I was interested in (which means no Glock) and and the then-new P10c and FNS9. The Winner? P320. Which got a little worse after all the triggers got “fixed” but then got much better after I got X grips and X triggers. I had to sit through a lot of Sig abuse but knew it worked best for me.
@CaveWyatt
@CaveWyatt Год назад
@@GBGuns ps, one thing I find interesting is that MAC now finds that the once reviled P320 is now the best gun on the market. I infer from Tim’s comments that it’s because Sig is always innovating/improving, in ways that may or may not work but end up moving the gun forward. The modularity has helped me in that regard in that the much newer X trigger completely overcame the step backward the trigger “fix” did to the three I had at the time and made them better than the original. The X grip module was gravy in that it made the trigger reach and overall grip feel even better for me.

I got the Q1S as my first CCL because it was so well reviewed by everyone using it and as a @#$&-you to the Glock cult. (I am all in with Grand Power but if the assembly after cleaning was such a PITA... Ugh other than that back to praises). I use a friction grip pocket holster for every day CCL based on the threat assessment and rules and regulations at my workplace (no open carry but in a good way). Nice fit in my scrubs front pocket. When wearing black it's virtually invisible. Fits like a wide screen smartphone in my jeans pocket as well (my kids said so) so I pretty much wear it all the time. Accurate and unique. Did I mention I love it already? 😂 And of course it has the StribogA3s with some add-ons to back it up if needed.

Hi again. I have smallish hand for a man. Can you ask Teah if the Q1S feels too wide in the web of her grip hand between the thumb and forefinger? The Beretta PX4 is too wide at the spot so I moved away from it. If the QS1 fits a bit better there I want to get one. Also, have you tried the QS1-UPC? I see one for cheap online.

Not a criticism, just curious: why do you swing the gun up instead of pressing out when you do "ready ups"?
@GBGuns
@GBGuns Год назад
Because we do this with new-to-us (especially in Cold Shots) guns every time we're trying to accelerate the process by not losing/having to figure out the grip angle with each up. If you're training with your carry gun yes pressing out as if from a draw is better training, but if we did that every time we'd be adjusting for grip angle every time which would make the video longer. By keeping our arms straight our wrists aren't moving so it's just a matter of presentation height which is of course much more predictable. Short answer: It helps compress the length of the videos. On any given range day we're learning as many as six new handguns for the first time live on camera with no prep work. It would be like if you went to the range and they said "now the world is going to watch amo757 shoot this random gun for the first time. Good question, thanks for asking.

2:13 you mentioned the mag release is stiffer. Is that normal for all the new models I only say because I want to see if anyone else has had this problem recently. I own a p11 and my mag release from day 1 has been STIFFF and even sometimes sticks where u have to press it from the other side to release it. I sent it back to global ordnance and all they did was slap the X Trim over sized mag release button on there basically saying “we found nothing wrong with your mag release and put the larger button on for those who have trouble with pressing it” Does anyone else have trouble with their grandpowers and having a stiff and even sometimes sticky mag release? Like I’m no wuss I’m a mechanic, young, and been shooting for years? I only ask because I’m interested in getting another grandpower the Q1S and P40L but after the response from Global and the fact my first and only impression is kind of iffy with a potentially defective model I’m weary. Also it’s been 2 years So it’s def not a break in thing either.. I just want to see if this truly is the norm or if I got the short end of the stick. Maybe it’s only the newer models? Love if anyone could shed some light on it.
@GBGuns
@GBGuns Год назад
We've had a few with stiff releases, but not unbearable, and they're almost always easier from the other side which is how I prefer to use them anyways.
@Talley212
@Talley212 Год назад
@@GBGuns man I must’ve really gotten the short end of the stick cause mine literally gets stuck open where I have to press it from the opposite side so it can return to center sometimes. And if I even think of pressing from the other side with my index I’m a fool as it can only be pressed with my thumb unless I put all my force into that index finger. I reckon I’ll try emailing Global again and even sending them a video cause that’s the only thing kind of scaring me away from another grandpower. I love everything about mine but that LOL. It probs isn’t every model and I just got real unlucky but it’s my first and only impression of the brand and with no where to rent one where I live it’s up to my best judgement to make another purchase on em. Thank u heavily for this reply!! I can even send you a video if you’d like or post it on RU-vid and link it. It’s literally crunchy like in stages when u press it and I hear no one else talking about it so it has to just be me. 😕 Love your videos btw!!! Like hands down you’re the best gun reviewer in my opinion! Can’t wait for u to do the new Canik METE SF review!

Grand Power's newer (straight, not curved) striker triggers are among the best striker triggers out there. I think the only reason you don't hear more about them is simply because people haven't tried them.

Great review, as usual.. very entertaining, and useful. Teya kicks ass! For having an issue with trigger reach, she seemed to shoot it amazingly well. I wanted to order a Q100 at Sportsmans in Reno, Nevada where I live. They are listed on their website. The salesmen, however, seem to have little or no clue if they can even obtain one. Man, why are these Grand Power pistols seemingly made of unobtainium? This smaller Q100 is quite interesting. I'm a big man, 6'-2" 245 and, like you, I have big hands. I'm also a lefty shooter. I dislike all these micro compacts, all of them are just too small for me. Hellcats, The Sig 365's, and especially the Glock 43.. I have no interest in any of them. I carry a Walther PDP compact- 4." My PDP, is by far, the most comfortable in my hands, of all the pistols I've tried in shops. And, that's lot of pistols. I also have a Canik TP9 SF SC, and with the 15 round mag, it is a good fit in my hand, and I shoot it well. The ambi-paddle slide catches on them, are great..while other manufacturers seem to just put one small tab on the right side begrudgingly.. you need to be a Gorilla on crack to operate them. I just bought a CZ P10 C, and it's nice. I haven't come to a conclusion on the slide catch yet- but it is 'equal' on both sides, it does work better than my S&W M&P 2.0. If Sportsmans had a Grand Power, that would be in my house, not the CZ. ....Well, maybe both would! lol!
