Body-worn camera footage of Grand Rapids police officers detaining three juveniles, including two 11-year-old boys, after receiving a 911 call that a teen was walking down the street with a handgun on Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018, in Southeast Grand Rapids. Police did not find any guns and released the youths.

this is a tough situation for both sides to be in, very tough. thank god no one was hurt. the police have a very very tough job to do, you can approach the youths as a parent with hands free and hope you are wrong that any of them are carrying a firearm or you can approach them like they are armed and use your training to be protective of all life involved.

This is true. No denying this but this situation was....unfortunate. Weird how the cop said the oldest teenager was the problem. Pretty sus. Also the mental torture the children went through. Especially the one in the red shirt. I hope the sent the family counselors. Also why do they talk to children like that. Weird as hell. 'Suspect in the white shirt' ???

Dont see anything wrong if they were advised of juvenil delincuent. I was robbed in New York 2 years ago by a maybe 14 years old teenager who follow me and had a knife. So who said police is not allow to stop a teenager? Come to New York and see the ages of delincuents here..you will be surprise.

They are children. This big act was entirely uncalled for. Cops used to be brave individuals with life and safety first, now they literally act like cowards in the face of little kids. No listening skills? Yeah they are children, not all children listen. Doesn't mean they need to be put in situations like this. Shameful, cowardly, police. If you aren't willing to risk your life, don't be a cop, firefighter, or any other job where you need to risk your life to do your job properly. Also trying to be friendly to children after pointing deadly weapons at them is the definition of insanity, trying to explain a situation like that is psychotic. Their terrified of these people known as cops now and this behavior will stick with them. Maybe if cops had a connection with the community they policed they would have known these kids and not needed to traumatize them.
