That was a fantastic video!!! It was like operating a model RR layout but using real trains, people and scenery. May sound sophomoric but it was a great experience none the less. 👍👍
Thank you!! It was enjoyable to shoot, it would have been even better if my cards were clear and my batteries were charged. I wasn’t expecting to shoot anything that day but I heard the horn when I got out of work on Chester St.
Opening scene with the blue sky and last of the autumn colors very nice. Quite a large yard was this the former Fairport Painesville and Eastern? For A Short Line glad to see bigger customers and decent track and equipment. The remnants of the bridge were very interesting and the Drone picked up a good layout of the line definitely worth another visit
Line is former B&O Lake Branch up to just north of downtown Grand River, then the NYC built an extension to the salt mine in the 50's. FP&E was on the other side of the river
The bridge was a way to connect the FP&E with the B&O on the Grand River west side. The FP&E served the Diamond shamrock plant (closed in 1976) and IRC Fibers to the east. At one time (after NS took it over) a line was expended east to the Perry nuke plant. Some of that remains and you can see the R/W on Google Earth. The B&O was on the east side Grand River primarily bring coal north from down toward Warren. Lots of EM-1's are seen in photos from back then.

@@tallpaul9475 Ah yes I see now. They have so many bad reviews I don't think I'll ever try their food. Brennans to the left is delicious though, well worth the visit!
