I bow out gracefully and respectfully. Thank you for the information, sir. I will be getting a Grand Seiko eventually. Thank you for the servicing tips.
@japanwatchconnection I did however, hear they will reapply diashield finishing apon request. Which I may enjoy in the future. I am waiting on a GS that is undeniable for me to get to add a last piece to my collection. Pardon my misinformed approuch.
@japanwatchconnection now, I am only going off of a watchuseek forum that covered it. But it was extensive with pictures and confirmation stating you can rejoice, not having to worry about diashield damage. Hope they can step up their coatings to Citizen levels. Good day sir, Always a plessure when talking Seikos, Grand or not 😅
Grand Seiko's service is absolutely sub-par. I have never experienced anything so bad and I have watches from numerous brands! The watch came back and an error was not eliminated or a new one installed. Swollen seal, chronograph second hand broken off, during the last repair they destroyed the thread of the tube and the crown and gave the watch back to me like that. There are so many things that I have already forgotten many of them. The watch has been repaired 10 times since 2017. I can prove everything, including photos and videos. During the penultimate repair, the watch was on the road for exactly 7 months, never less than 4.5 months. Nobody at Grand Seiko feels responsible. Honestly by far the worst customer service I've ever experienced! I can also send photos. I and my friends will never buy a Grand Seiko again and I will soon be doing so publicly on RU-vid videos and forums.
As an owner of no less than 10 GSs, I have only had to engage its aftersales service once. That experience itself is enough to deter me from buying its mechanical auto / hi beat models ever. I can’t be more surprised that they aren’t that competent either in servicing its Spring Drive models…😡
Many thanks for your reply, may I kindly also ask, I got the Ananta SRQ013 , the 130th Anniversary watch, I noticed that it does lose time significantly, I was advised that I can send to Seiko Service center in Saudi Arabia, but wanted to know , is it ok to send to Seiko Service in my country or it’s better to send to Japan ? Pls note that it is not a spring drive watch, best regards and thanks !
Rolex has the best servicing world wide with well trained techs. Nvr miss a heartbeat when it is back and reasonably price to the cost of the watch. This is very impt in mechanical watches, will buy another rolex if needed
Chronograph has been repaired for the tenth (!) time since 2017! If an error is eliminated, the next one is installed. Haven't seen any watch brand where it's even remotely as bad. Absolutely unprofessional.

I had horrifically poor service from Gand Seiko. It took 6 months to get my servuced snowflake back from GS Japan at an astronomical service cost of $1411usd. On receipt of the watch I noticed it would not wind automatically. Now it back to Japan again and the wait continues.
